In this forum, mostly some overseas living in EU.Vietnamese love to brag in the same way of Indian.
If most Chinese members have claimed China is already an economic super power surpassing USA, then such thread is legit.I don't think this kind of topic title is conducive to healthy discussion. Imagine if someone started a thread with the title "U.S. is way ahead of China in economic development". How would many of the posters here feel?
New Recruit
The way we brag is 100 times too weak if comparing to you, actually we can learn from China. Even people in the most remote island of Pacific believe chinese boys and girls have superpower when reading this section.Vietnamese love to brag in the same way of Indian.
Apple reportedly will open 100 stores in VN next year
Does the website list stores to be opened in the next 3 years?
FPT will open Apple stores.
Trust to the Jap people? Take a read at the posts from your best friend here.No matter you believe or not I have great trust to the Japanese people.
You know what, I now declare Apple will open 1000 stores in Hanoi alone!Initially you said it is Apple to open 100 Apple stores in Vietnam in the next year; later you downgrade it to "next 3 years"; now you said it is FPT to open the Apple Stores, i.e. they are not Apple Stores, but resellers. Good movement, at least you start to realize how stupid your initial claim about Apple to open 100 Apple Stores in Vietnam is.

Actually I don’t care how much you brag how long you brag unless you try to insult our country and people.
@Martian2 my dear friend,
Yet again a good analysis....thoughtful, logical and fact based.
However, we need to incorporate a few more factors in our model if we desire a more accurate forecast of comparative development of the two states you noted while benchmarking against China.
It is not just the volumes or numbers game really. Not anymore. GDP sans financial 'industry' is what matters and shall remain so.
We need to baseline the current technological, sociological and political developments (provision of services, quality of defence equipment and production) of China against the two states. Only then a rational picture can emerge.
China in ten years hence will be a genetic engineering and AI global leader... these two elements are the turbo charged engines of the Chinese industrial upgradations... robotics, 3D printing, AI, IoT, smart cities and smart factories... it is so an alien world for the two states to be compared with.
How can they catch up? Ever.
As I have maintained... we should be benchmarking China with the collective output of the entire West. Because that is the true comparison really. As China is going out and seeking collaborations with leading countries... the gap is only going to widen.
I for one wish both India and VietNam the very best in advancing Human Condition in their respective states.
Anyhow, brilliant output by your good self as always.
Regards,
Mangus
post some real achievement can not be called as brag. From world's fastest computers, 1st satellite-based quantum communication test, world's largest electric vehicles production and sales, to longest high speed railway network, longest expressway network, longest metro network, busiest ports, largest power supplies, largest wind & solar power supply, etc etc etc. These are all real achievements that have been happened. Are they brags? No, they are just some bad news to you that you don't like. The way we brag is 100 times too weak if comparing to you
true. The news like "Vietnam brides are very popular in South Korea", or "a German with some Vietnam blood is now becoming an important government officer in Germany", post such news in a happy tone is really strange to us Chinese. What is strange is what you (or some very view VN members) consider as accomplishments.
I would put Chinese members in my ignore list if they create such thread.post some real achievement can not be called as brag. bro I am disappointed by your comment, I had expected you acted somewhat different. Too bad, you ruined my day.Looks like some Vietnamese got infected by the Indian SupaPowa virus.

India should compete with Vietnam first....Good points. When talking about growth, people have to look at the growth potential, cuz growth cannot be linearly projected. In last 4 decades, China managed to develop from a dirt poor country to a high middle income one, with average annual growth rate more than 10%. But old growth model almost ceased to work nowadays at china's current development stage, which is well expected, otherwise there is no "middle income trap" that catches in most of the middle income countries in this world. China works the butt off to find new growth potential, to keep the "new normal" growth rate(6~7%), hopefully for next two decades. Those areas include E-commerce, green energy, and the latest one, AI. According to PWC
https://qz.com/1015698/pwc-ai-could...lion-by-2030-with-much-of-the-gains-in-china/
By 2030, AI will add US$15.7 trillion to global GDP, with US$7 trillion belongs to China. Another big boost I will say is the electric vehicle. China plans to stop gasoline vehicle production by 2030. Consuming 30% of world vehicle production each year, China is preparing to lead in electric vehicle and benefit the most from it.
So, try to find those growth points before even talk about growth. You cannot progress into a high income country relying on making shoes, assembling TV or cell phones only.
