I dont think Thailand is a backward nation...I have been there..it is very beautiful country, neat-clean and having well developed infrastructure.

I cant think of any place in the world when it comes to good beer, delacious food and classic massage at very reasonable rates

Except political instability, I dont see anything wrong with thailand. They have cleaner and better cities than India and people are generally hospitable.
Not every country can grow fast but I did not see many poor people, they are generally happy and doing well, thats what matters most.

i am agree with you, for their sex industry i think their people is open and not hypocrite about sex, unlike some countries who pretend to be clear and has a norm etique but behind those words lie an ugly truth.
