What's new

BLA terrorists bomb Jinnah's Ziarat residency museum.

But you can't disassociate yourself from KSA either and as long as the people are highly religious+gullible KSA will always be able to set it self up on the religiously higher ground and act as an authority..to the point of even countermanding your state's sovereign prerogative. Since its not possible to bring in a secular government and constitution in Pakistan..what else do you and @Hyperion suggest as a solution...apart from nuking Jhang Hype..anything apart from that?

We cant , of course . Everyone from the top brass and the elites knows it .

There are ways to exert some ' control ' over people using the Kingdom's religiously higher authority but it has limits . There's a reason why the Govt of Pakistan despite knowing all this , doesn't ask the Saudi clerics to give a fatwa banning all these terrorist attacks and declaring ' Taliban ' as ' infidels ' . I know a minority of people will take their word and consider these terrorists as terrorists and not as the subjugated oppressed people who are now taking revenge from Pakistanis . But , sir , what to do of the gullible masses for whom the Mullah for all intents and purposes is God's incarnation ? What to do for those who cant even agree if the moon was sighted or not with the technology available today ? :D

You know all this all killings , terror and now destruction of important national sites is counterproductive for the religious psychopaths and militants , slowly the people are realizing their enemies , labeling them as such , talking against them and in areas where Govt permits it - forming militias and fighting against them . More and more people are realizing the dangers of this radicalization in the society .

I would suggest ' take no prisoners ' and ' Auschwitz and the final solution ' approach , meaning no negotiations but shoot-on-sight and kill all Taliban besides other militants and ask questions later and an increase in the intensity of the military operations and massive use of media and PSYOPS to tell people what these religious dimwits and militants have done and are doing now . What dangers does a common man face if he doesn't realize his ' enemy ' now . How many ' girls ' will be targeted if they want to learn and contribute to the society and nation . What sort of ' loss of freedom ' will result if somehow even though the probability is very low , the terrorists prevail over the state . The Swatis learned this when the wanted the ' all but Islamic ' interpretation of the religion , the hard way , I hope so that it isn't true for the rest of the Pakistanis . Last but the most important , after the war is over , to keep a strict check over these religious clerics and ' Madarsas ' and the religious authority and control them like the Kingdom does .

@muse Can you refine the ideas further , sir ?

I still don't get why securities or important guarded are sleeping and unsupervised on Quaid House. Surprise and more surprise!

Maybe we can rebuilt it as cost-saving duplicate house, ask Chinese for help.

The video I just posted above has some answers from the IGP of Baluchistan.

BTW, excellent video! Gives me hope that with so many dedicated, sincere, AND smart people like these Pakistan will be all right.

I will request all Pakistanis here to please not drag Arabs into this! I, like the scholar Jawed Ghamdi, believe that the Muslims of the sub-continent are singularly the most emotional, the most irrational of almost all Muslims world-wide. We had the Sufi traditions which held people in peace but that too was based on emotions and cultish behavior. Sadly, since 9/11--and thanks in no small part to the new strategic environment-- the Sufi traditions are being replaced by something emotional but also violent... We can't blame the Arabs for that.

I had even suggested creating 'concentration camps' where people from problem areas would be moved to, interrogated, and access to/from that place would be 'controlled'. Yes, that would no doubt drag innocent people into the net but if they really are innocent they would be let off--with or without the too-ideological Supreme Court involvement! So create large concentration camps, move large number of potential suspects, interrogate them. But treat everyone as innocent, until proved guilty.

Pakistanis should learn a thing or two from North Korea, Hitler and Stalin!

he is right when state does terrorism against mosques was done no body spoke against that and cries for ziyarat which is caused by those whose leaders are sitting in Switzerland and London under protection off our allies in war against terror how ironic

Pardon me if I misunderstood you here. Are you saying that Musharraf's Lal Masjid Operation was state terrorism? If so then you are, in my books, an obvious terrorist sympathizer!

I'd like for someone to start a poll where Pakistanis-only vote--with identities of voters obvious--about the Lal Masjid Operation with some simple questions. Then we will know who stands where!

I, for one, here say loud and clear that the Lal Masjid occupiers were deranged, violent, medieval thugs and Musharraf did the right thing going after that.

Why not ? Aren't there militants caught and then released by the free and fair judiciary later to be carried on shoulders by the gullible students and the people who understand them as their ' savior and in the meantime ' malign the sacrifices of the security forces ' and to allow them to continue the war against the state from some other place ? So these certain restriction on appeals , lawyers and the whole judicial process is kind of like the need of hour in these times of despair . After all , even the Americans suspend the right to Habeus corpus when the nation's facing an emergency and Romans were known to appoint a single man to rule when the enemy was at the gates . Desperate times , desperate measures . So take these suspected militants inside those camps , interrogate them and if found guilty , after getting the ' useful information ' which may lead to the arrest of others and locating their hideouts , shut them in a chamber and release Zyklon-B !

About time , they do .

Sad to see this, hope there is a chance to rebuild it to it's former glory & who ever did this act has no place being in Pakistan they are a traitor and should be executed.

Crocodile tears, nothing else. Why don't you Indians stay out of threads like these?

And what are those problem areas?

@Secur,
In a country where lawyers showered rose petals on Salman Taseer's killers 'the law' doesn't work. I mean 'lawyers'!! However justified that dung-beetle Qadri was the lawyers had no business supporting an obvious extra-judicial matter. Our twisted Chief Justice should have banned all those lawyers--facial identification from the videos/images was enough proof. But our twisted CJP was busy hunting a soon-to-be-has-been Zardari's cases from the 90's with feverish pitch.

I'd welcome a humanely-run Concentration Camp in Pakistan. I had advocated that many months ago and I stand by that.

Desperate situation require equally desperate measures!

I remember, as a student at the Karachi University in mid-80's we were barred from direct entry to the campus--we had to go through a 'shuttle' from the main-gate. Some people grumbled: 'Jamia ki Azadi Chali Gayi' (the university lost its freedom). To which, on tv, Governor Fakhruddin Ibrahim (the now CEC!) retorted: Desperate Situations Require Equally Desperate Measures. We all eventually accepted and welcomed the peace returned to the campus of the Karachi University!

He was a lawer for the cause of Pakistan, the main man was chuaudry rehmat Ali, jinnah neither belonged to the land and didn't share any cultural heritage other then religion.

Chuaudry Rehmat Ali was the real father of Pakistan but slowly his name just disappeared.

Open your history books and start studying again. Mr Jinnah was born in Karachi, which when I last checked, was located in Sindh.

How about we start this hitler's "concentration camp" thing from your karachi?

I only wish you were in Pakistan and knew ground reality, there is no Saudi high authority due to religion here, highest religious authority in this land is the US dollar for which all this is happening.

Really??

Are you sure you are in the same Pakistan??
Because the last I went.. people could not help pick up a thawb and igal and robe.. All those maulanas who were ok wearing a sherwani are now in it.. and it is not slavery to how the prophet dressed.. its how their Saudi masters dress.

Ok, let me try, but you all know where I stand and that I am persuaded that Weeds are best controlled by pulling thenm out of their roots.

I would first take up the issue of WILL -- This is THE all important question, Does Pakistan have the Will? I put it to you that Pakistan is once again hung itself -- All these militants are the creation of the state, they will tell you that they have lost control of these militants but of course some doubt and think that these militants are being used for political gains - it is amazing that the credibility of the state is such that people can actually think such things.

But lets for a minute operate as if the state had credibility and the will -- what should be done? I would advise a Pakistani Premier to prepare a speech - I would invite the Indian Premier and have a candid conversation, If the conversation resulted in a measure of trust, I would advise that the Army, Air Force and Navy be prepared for large number of inductees, in the meantime I would advise the creation of a specialized training centers - I would advise that the Premier go on TV and lay out the case, begin by telling Pakistanis exactly what is going on and that you have decided that it must stop if Pakistan is to survive and declare a Jihad against terrorism and separatism, promise a new social contract -- and then pull weeds from the roots - yes that means if there is anyone holding or displaying a weapon, shoot him dead, monitor communication -- as for the Arbis, they learn the hard way, if bombs go off in Pakistan, they will go off in Arabia - no threats just reality.

I would further advise the Premier that we will have entered a stage in the development of the state from which there is no turning back, that means we will drop teachuing Islamism in schools and universities, we will tell the Indian that we will not send nor will we tolerate islamists on our soil, we will send the same message to the Iranian, the Arab and the Afghan, - we will ensure every UYighur terrorist is killed and his identity presented to the brother ally, China and the same to our brother in Uzbekistan and Russia.
