Dude, you used the word currently and currently Kolkata class has only short range SAMs and vulnerable to air and missile attack. By the time the first ship of the class gets the medium range SAM fitted, 1 More Type-052C and 1 more Type-052D would be in service.

It would get MR-Sam next year and India would have added two more Kolkata class which are close to completion and depending on time frame one considers, 4 Ships of Project 15B would start getting inducted ( construction started in 2013 )

Delhi class are better as they have a version of the BUK missile but slightly outclassed by the 8 older destroyers that China has, which have many more Russia medium range SAMs carried.

The Varyag of near 70,000 tonnes is currently being used to train Chinese sailors and airmen in the tactics of carrier operations. Brazil is also helping out the Chinese in this department as they have carrier experience.

There are very good reasons to believe that the Chinese are currently constructing two similar sized carriers ready for service around the 2020 mark. By the times these carriers are ready then China would have a decent amount of experience in carrier warfare.
