It is misleading at the least if not outright nonsense. A country's potential power is based on far more variables than what GFP whittles it down to. GFP is afflicted with the shiny toy syndrome, I.e. whosoever has the biggest defense budget gets to the top (I am not saying some don't deserve to be up there) but there are very many intangibles that are missing from their simplistic assumptions.

Yes, UAE has a lot of expensive toys but that's not the only thing that matters. About 90% of UAE population are expats. Their local population is about 1 million and rest are foreigners on visas. When a war breaks out, all these foreigners will leave and it will bring the country to a standstill, that country is literally run by foreigners. Remaining 1 million, LOL. BD has 1 million people in one of the smallest suburbs of Dhaka.

Most notable inclusion is 340 pieces of Towed Artillery in their list which earlier they showed zero. But defence budget is still showing outdated 1.59 billion US dollar figure. According to IISS 2018, Bangladesh has 841 pieces of Artillery. Last year's defence budget was 3.50 billion US dollar.

The UAE has almost 150 Vipers/2000s, and their Vipers in particular are quite lethal, belonging to the latest batch and literally being described as a cheaper alternative to the F-35. They've also got about 30 Rafales on order.

Bangladesh, on the other hand, has less than 40 Fishcans and only 8 Fulcrums. Not only that, but the UAE's air force has far more combat experience.

This edge in airpower is enough to conclude that the UAE is more powerful than Bangladesh by a significant margin.

And if you want to discuss who would win in a war, the UAE would have the ability to hit Bangladesh pretty hard using economical warfare alone, bringing in their military wouldn't even be necessary.

You dense idiot, they have almost 150 top of the line 4th gen fighter/attack aircraft, where as Bangladesh has less than 50 fighter/attack aircraft, and only 8 of them are even 4th gen (the rest are 3rd gen).

I don't know why you are giving a tally of how many vipers they have. I already know they have many advanced weapons. But that's not the point. Mate, nobody is talking about BD going all the way to Arabian gulf and fighting UAE. It's about a comparison of that GFP put forth, in a comparison BD is definitely ahead in terms of war survival. We have land and natural resources, with that huge population we can still feed them during war time, we can even go foraging to survive, worst case scenario we can take a hit of 50% population being wiped out due to hunger, we have done so during the Bangal famine in the time of British raj. UAE has nothing, absolutely nothing to function as a state apart from their oil and gas. They don't have the most important thing the human resource, they don't have water sources and an agriculture to speak of.

Don't behave like a shiny toy fanboy, war of survival does not work like that.
