Did you read what I have posted? I said We dont bomb our civilians. Pakistani Army dressed dressed as terrorists and regular Pakistani terrorists are not our civilians.

As for civilian Kashmiris - they are all fine - voting peacefully for the elections, studying in Indian schools, running businesses etc. The nuisance are some cowards and insects from Pakistan who create trouble hence we exterminate them.

As for you using fighter jets on your civilians, allowing American Drones to bomb civilian weddings and etc - No wonder TTP thrives.

It could be very well possible, for the PAF to test the prepareness of the IAF. They knew, IAF and airdefence is on high allert due to republic day, so sending a ballon of 3 mt circumference, in the indian border could be

1. Check the response time of the IAF to cordenoff its interceptor.
2. Study the Air defence, and the Radar Frequency of the ground Radar.

If I remember, PAF send its one F-16 deep inside Indian territory just after Indira Gandhi Assasination, to check indian prepareness, and for several days MIG-21 in Pune airstation was kept at full high allert.

I have just a question..
It was morning, clear sky. The pilot would have made a clear visual contact with the object. He would also have taken closer look to identify the target. Transmit back the details to ATC definitely. If he has not spotted anything unusual or dangerous, then why he pulled the trigger?
Isn't it a little unprofessional for a trained pilot?
Or he just started shooting without getting too close to see what actually he is shooting at?
What is the usual SoP on that?

PS: If someone has experience of flying kites. In these months January, February. Its common for air to flow upwards during the day, as its get hotter with the Sun. We used to see kites in Lahore after cutting their string, many a times keep flying upwards. It could have been with this balloon as well, that it gets so high in the air.

A balloon shot down by SU-30. I dont know whether to laugh or cry over this news. Seriously there is a limit to hysteria. I dont know bout india response but Pakistani response was brilliant after we escorted Indian jets post 26/11.

Unless it was a huge baloon like those used for weather, atmosphere research and flight it will be impossible to target a typical party ballon with a jet fighter.
