What's new

Azerbaijan Defence Programs & Military Development

New MOD speaks fluent Russian, during the war he spent his time in Russian Far East, where he was in charge of mobilization, very rear echelon assignment, and returned to Az when the war was coming to an end. He has no combat experience whatsoever. Using your logic he should also be close to Russia, don’t you think so?

Then I looked at bio of your chief of General staff. He is also Lezgi, speaks fluent Russian, doesn’t speak good Azeri, did participate in the war from the very beginning. How would you label him, Kamil?
The good thing is according to Azeri rules Chief of Stuff(Genelkurmay Bashkani) has no power until there is a war with Armenian. But, MOD has huge power. Just imagine that they bough mig-29 jets as new and after him it was found that all of them were used to the point that they knew it will fall down. Many Azeri pilots died because of that.
Also, second guy to the president is Kurd and famous for helping PKK. He is the head of Presidents security, Beyler. According to rumors, all his brothers was killed by Turkish Intelligence to make him move away from PKK.

what the hell are you talking about? Air Force bought MiG-29s fully knowing they were used, and Azerbaijan lost a single MiG-29UB, you make it sound like the entire fleet of MiG-29s came crashing down.

Sa'ar S-72 for Coast Guard

The pilot candidates of the TurAF will receive their Primary Flight Training with the MFI-17 395 Super Mushshak and then will get their Basic Flight Training with the HÜRKUŞ-B aircraft at the 2nd Main Jet Base in Izmir. Within the scope of the target of standardization in the pilot training processes at the Air Forces of the two countries, it is considered that the utilization of HÜRKUŞ-B for the Basic Flight Training in Azerbaijan Air Forces and utilization of HURJET for the Advanced Jet and Combat Readiness Training would be convenient.

Looks a bit like fake news to me. The negotiations were still in progress in December.

According to the president, delivery of Russian military equipment is still continuing from previous contracts, and Azerbaijan is continuing negotiations over new purchases.
Some of the systems still being delivered
Khrizantema S (total of 50+ will be delivered), the Khrizantema S delivered to Azerbaijan are more advanced than ones in Russian Army, due to upgraded sensors.

BMPT is a waste of money. The concept of BMPT is to support tanks in an open terrain. There aren’t much of open terrain in karabakh region nor there will be any major rank battles.

Actually its quite the opposite, role of BMPT is to support tanks in complicated environments, such as urban and mountainous, and I would say its quite needed to provide support to 700+ tanks in the army that would need to travel through mountainous terrain, and mostly come across infantry sitting in trenches with ATGMs, those twin 30mm cannons using high explosive rounds are perfect for those situations.

Negative.
Tanks are useless in mountainous terrain because they are vulnerable. Trust me, when you start getting deep towards the mountains of karabakh, you will see very little or hardly any tanks.
Your army won’t “travel” thru mountains it will be bitter fighting over every hill, village and elevation. BMPs 2/3, artillery, some wheeled APCs and helicopters. Those are the tools to fight in the mountains. And of course infantrymens best friend-60/82/120 mm mortars
