ATF-10 NLOS - Nasty shock for 'Cold Start'?

1. Any agreement that you know about that gives Pakistanis unabated access to Chinese inventory ? How exactly are you sure about this ?

2. What Chinese equipments the Pakistanis are using presently ? I know about the two fighter jets. Also, I think I spotted some news about Chinese helicopters. But, I think there were only two of them..

Actually three Z-10 Thunderbolts have been delivered to PAA for hot battlefield test and evaluation.
The list is incomplete, none the less here's some of the latest Chinese equipments in Pak armed forces inventory.

Nice posts, Zarvan I like that, its a little bit Nishan style, but I can fully understand you both, I think the same, and I support you both in that wishlist-case, even when I play PC-strategy games I name my units after Pakistan Army units and try to finde games where Pakistan Army is represented like Command and conquer, may be for you both also a good solution to shop military stuff for the Pakistan Army.....;)
You can actually play against Pakistan army as Russians in a sequel to a rare Russian game. It's called "Warfare Reloaded", because it shares it's name with another game, chances are you may never find it and even if you do, it probably won't run.

It's the most accurate war game i have ever played. The original one, simply called "Warfare" will be much easier to find and also runs without any issues.

just another anti tank weapon, not a shock. the Apaches that we are buying from the US will easily take out these chinese weapons.

our LCH is also in its final stage of development

so please don't try to sensationalize these little things.

Yea, first get them inducted......more like daydreaming. Even a good medium range SAM will make minced meat outta them.

Spike is not for Thar desert, but for high altitude warfare, or say for special ops.

For Thar still the Javelin is better choice, and soon we see contracts.

But yes Nag is for Thar definitely, with IIR and MMW seeker.
Here come the Indians with their BS feel good posts.

FYI - CM-501G has a range of 70km

How it is different from extended range of guided/ unguided rockets ?

Imagine an extended range AGM-144R Hellfire II, with the ability to detect and destroy an enemy target i.e a tank from stand off range.

These missiles can be fed a database of enemy vehicles, it can identify them by their type i.e T-90 is not in use with PA. In other words it can discriminate between friend or foe. It also can be fired remotely.

The big difference between this and rockets is its precision, trajectory and having a high kill ratio.

Feel good? Cut the crap please. If you have any argument then please response.

BTW, that reply was not for you. Ohh, you taking on yourself, so much insecurity.

LOL

its the only real time strategy game who has Pakistan in it. However its difficult in the game to beat indians with the type of weapons this game has to offer for Pakistan. Also the range of Pakistani tanks is just awful compared to indian tanks.

But will it be that precise given the the distance it has to cover and the speed of moving moving tanks like T90 and Arjun MK2 ?

Any rocket propelled modern weapon designed to engage moving targets is designed to give chase and follow the target no matter how far it goes, tanks move no faster than 72kmph for the fastest tanks on ideal routes but SAMs and AAMs can even chase down planes with speeds exceeding mach 2.

still dont 't like that these wired weapons... yes these cannot be jammed but limit shooters' maneuver....

Still India does not posses technical nuclear missiles. Hence Pakistan must also look at other options to counter those.
That is what I am saying we should get these and other stuff for our Army and Rangers tactical nuke is not a good option

Well that is good

On okay so range is more compared with tanks and Helfire fired from helicopters . Cool but article says it consists of fiber optic cable but it applies to 70 km range variant as well ?

But still long range Multi barrel rockets can do the same . Example Pinaka

The trouble with Pinaka or other MBRL systems is that it can engage stationary targets with deadly effects, so you can take out Command, storage, logistics, communication, power infrastructure, however their ability to target moving thrust of armor is limited by their limited accuracy & complete lack of 'loiter' capability.

Some MBRLs are now also starting to employ sensor fused sub munitions. The rocket disintegrates on a set altitude like a high speed cluster bomb, dispensing sub munitions on moving targets, however this technology is also less effective.

NLOS is not exactly like a cruise missile but it does have some 'loiter' capability to 'stalk' its target, ID it and take it out with a steep dive on the top of the target where the armor is thin & counter measures ain't that effective.

I agree we should get these and I would insist as economy improves and defence budget increases along with SP Artillery we should give these beasts both to Army and Para Military

Helina version of NAG missile family has infrared and radar homing unlike pinaka rockets.

But range s 7-9 km depending upon the altitude for helina .Nag is 4^5 km . But this is it seems 70 km?

I do not understand the 'range of 70km' for a land based system.

Below is the details,

The AFT-10 has a length of 1,850 mm; width of 165 mm; weight, including launch system, of 150 kg; and a warhead weighing 43 kg. Its solid-rocket booster and micro turbojet engine confer a range of 10 km, a cruise speed of 150 m/s, and an attack speed of 230 m/s.

It says the range of 10 km.

If 70 km range, then

How it will attain/lock on target? which is also a land based.
Missile weight is 150 kg - for eg. ARMRAAM has a range of 25 KM at sea level which is aroung 150 k.g, so how come this missile - which has 43 k.g of war head can travel 70 k.m at sea level?
