I am speaking from the Chinese perspective. If India is lying about the “claims”, then we have planted a flag where there wasn’t one. Let’s try and isolate the narrative here, it’s either Indian territory or Chinese territory or an unclaimed territory. It definitely is disputed. Let’s start from there. The area has always been disputed on paper, which serves Chinese designs. By escalating the situation, the Chinese have done a Hail Mary and committed. Each party now has to bring to bear the goods to back their claims.
A better analogy would be to imagine adjacent plots of land with unclear demarcations, and contesting claims of plot sizes by the two owners who don’t really live on the plot and have houses in the city and have fought for so long that one owner has started building a boundary wall. The other has to escalate or accept what’s left outside the boundary wall as his.

Its already been half a century since we lost East Pakistan. Pakistanis and Bangladeshis have gotten over it but Indians are still stuck in the Past victories. They always quote 1971 but forget their humiliation in 1965 and 1962 wars. They also forget how we snatched Azad Kashmir from its India occupiers. They also forget that in 2001 India Pakistan stand off Indians lost nearly 2000 soldiers without even getting a chance to march on our border. They forget to tell you that Indians have lost 1100 soldiers on Siachin just for sake of their ego otherwise there is nothing of value in siachin. Indians have a selective memory no one can win against them when they get hell bent on brain farting so just ignore them.

But will it get better for the chinese with each passing decade though .They have made it clear now that they are our enemies . In about 2-3 decades India will still be there , capable enough to not only take back aksai chin but also liberate Tibet . Both LOC and LAC are very close and infra will be ready by then for seamless fast connectivity between the two borders . How far is tibet and xinjiang from the population centers of china ? .
