Of course Indians are Islamophobic. Any religionist fearful for the existence of his religion becomes phobic to the pressure exerted by the foreign religion which seeks to replace it. The Umayyad, Ghaznavid, the Mongol and the Tughlaq conquest of the sub-continent have been forgotten to time but their historic accounts remain pristine and accessible, although to some extent apocryphal, for those who wish to seek out the historical development of religion in the sub-continent. Their have been many recorded instances of internal violence against the resident Muslim population such as Bihar, Nellie, Gujarat, Ayodhya and Meerut since the partition in 1947. These violent outbreaks, although arguably provocations by the Muslim community, fuelled by mob-mentality are most certainly a manifestation of the resentment and ire which Hindus hold against the injustice wreaked by the Muslims in the middle-ages and the partition which was brokered by colonial Britain.

Hindus are most certainly Islamophobic and a large majority of them will always conceal their dislike for Islam and its followers, with the exception of online-forums such as this, in order to appear pluralistic and secular.

I , myself, has never been a fan of Islam as a religion (or any other religion). I always believed in "jiyo aur jeene do" and any religion which was against this simple rule is an abomination in my eyes. Althoh , muslim , in general are peaceful, their religious code, the Qur'an explicitely and clearly states that non-believers to be freed from their lives. This very statement is deterrent enough for sane headed ppl to stay away from ppl who follow these diktats....or at least follow the book in which these blasphemous statements are written.

I agree that hindus in particular, overplay the atrocities committed by the muslim rulers.....but as u said, however muslims try to downplay the aforesaid, the muslim conquest of india was one of the most ghastly acts/series of acts that has ever happened in the face of the earth. So why should the hindus be so generous to their muslim brethren ??? the tolerance that we have in india may not the model for the rest of the world, but considering what sort of thrashing the hindus have suffered under the hands of muslims, i think its more than expected. So u see, and I agree, when u say hindus are islamophobic.

Now, enough talking about hindus. lets concentrate on the piousness of muslims. we have seen y the hindus have the phobia of muslims. but i fail to understand, y the muslims have such hatred towards the hindus. is it because of their book which dictates them to any non believer (and idolaters) ??? or there are any other reason. I fail to understand. now that india is under a hindu democratic govt and pak has got its own islamic republic, why the blinding hatred ??

i know my ancestors were punjabi hindu gujjars from kharian but thank god they became muslim.

The Bengali speaking Muslims of West Bengal and other areas bordering India would be very happy to be part of BD.

India can easily get rid of 30-40 million Muslims this way.

Do you think Indians are islamophobic? Lately I have been seeing Indians support chin's savage oppression of muslims trying to fast during ramadan. Nothing can justify such a blatant abuse of human rights yet several Indians attempt to.
