Amazing Cricket - Aus vs India

Irfan is a swing bowler and is now bowling at 135kph constantly.he can be lethal if he does swing the bowl in tri series.and team india now has three fast bowlers umesh yadav, ishant sharma and varun aaron who can bowl at 150kph.Varun Aaron is the fastest bowler of india.Even Wasim Akram admitted that Zaheer Khan is the best swing bowler in the world today. And express pace isn,t always necessary.for ex:india had nearly won the test series in south africa last year with zaheer and sreeshanth.

Then wasim akram was too kind.........but seriously swing bowlers may win you matches on seeming, green top tracks, but on flat or bouncy tracks they can't do anything ...they become a "hit me" bowlers ..... swing bowler doesnot mean that you loose your pace or ball at too low pace .....

Even Wasim akram was a best swing bowler of his time and best left hand bowler the world has ever seen but if you see he was fast in his early days then he got diabetes and was forced to bowl with short run-up but still his pace was very good somewhere around 145 even when he got aged and diabetic patient ...

Its lot to do with the build of the bowlers and the training they get during their first class carrier ....and btw if you check out the last few matches irfan played for india his pace was around 125 most of the times and even on few occasions commentator criticized him for that, along with no swing in later part of his career the drop of pace was also a reason to drop him

Parveen kumar is another example ...you provide him a green top specially made for him he will be handful but you make him play on flat decks or bouncy decks he looks like a part timer who can be hit all around the ground ....england series was a glimpse of that ...

Umesh and ishant on the other hand can bowl bit quick but have you seen their record specially that of ishant apart from 2008 aus tour when did he last time looked a threatening bowler? when a bowler comes to the scene he usually has success against most because the batsman havent played him before they dont have studied him and his bowling action but once you are introduced batsman around the world came to know about you and study you, then its a different ball game

If a legend like wasim says this about zaheer its likely to be true.Zaheer and Praveen are equally effective on almost dead wickets of indian subcontinant as they are on seaming pitches. And why praveen is successful everywhere is because he swings the ball both ways and is unpredictable.remember world cup 2011 semi-final,munaf,zaheer and nehra bundled pakistan for 221 on a good batting pitch.

irfan used to bowl at 140kph when he first came to the scene.he even took a hat-trick against pakistan on a good batting wicket in karachi.if he regains his vigour,he will be tough to face on any pitch.

You are right about ishant,i agree.he just bowls fast and has little control over line & length. But umesh and varun are bright prospects. The current indian bowling attack is better than what we had in the world cup but still we won.A team can not win the world cup just by there batting strength,so it means that indian bowling is very underestimated just as the indian batting is overestimated. And to remind you world cup was played on flat decks.

let me correct you buddy on that and lets take it brotherly...to be honest both wickets you are talking about were not batting friendly

First start about the semi final you are talking about ....firstly Pakistan team was not bowled out if i remember correctly rather the overs ended and misbah was still on crease .... secondly the wicket was not easy at all....india managed to make just 260 runs and for that you should thank raina because at one stage india was ~160-5 wickets and if you remember correctly even sachin was not able to bat with ease on that track...he made 60 but he was dropped by atleast 4-5 times ...... after a very good start by sehwag the whole indian batting line-up struggled and was restricted to 260 ...that particular pitch was pretty slow...the ball was not coming onto the bat specially with old ball ...that means the more slower you ball the more difficult it is for the batsman to play... and also for me the main wicket taker in that match was youvraj ....when he came to bowl Pak was in very comfortable position but as the pitch was slow thus the ball was more gripping and turning and as youvraj balls pretty slow so he extracted everything out of that pitch and provided india with back to back wickets...

Now coming to Karachi pitch in which pathan took hatrick ........... i couldnot believe that you said that pitch was batting wicket.ooppsy .....i think you have never played cricket (no offence though) the ball on that pitch was swinging a mile ....that was a total fresh green top wicket which had Pakistan 36-6 but kamran akmal came he scored wonderful century and Pak team reached somewhere around ~240 runs and guess what Pakistan won that match by huge margin ...in both innings india was bowled out for around ~200 runs........ now will you say that pitch was flat????? better ask anyone who is close to you and plays cricket he will tell you about that pitch...and also try to check out that match on youtube...find out that video and then analyze yourself....even an insane in his dream can't say that the pitch was flat

Third point about winning world cup with this bowling attack , there were two main reasons
1- use to of home conditions
2- thanks your stars

If we go back and analyze your teams bowling performance team wise and with every match

1- Bangladesh scored ~300 runs against your bowling attack, at one stage bangladesh was only 2 down and were looking threatening to come closer to indian total

2- SA chased down around 300 runs against you guys batting second

3- England tie a match against you guys , chasing a massive score of around ~335

i can go on and on

Lets take it in this way Zaheer khan is a good bowler and best bowler compared to your own bowlers ...but not overall ...it will be no justice to many other fascinating bowlers declaring zaheer as the best bowler.... you have class bowlers in other teams in lights of those too who have taken un-countable wickets through out there carrier

Sir,the mohali pitch wasnt a bowler friendly pitch.indian team managed just 260 because they batted miserably after 25th over.and mohali is the fastest pitch of the subcontinent.how could it be slow.after the indian innings i was watching the post innings programme in which your zaheer abbas said that pakistan had very good chance of winning because pitch was still very good for batting and indian batting had really collapssed badly and coudnt capitalise on the start given by sehwag.
and pakistan was all out in that game with misbah last to go, caught at long on by kohli.Sachin made 85 not 60 and was struggling because it wasnt his day.Yuvraj was bowling very well in that tournament and took at least 2 wickets every match not just that game.

Karachi pitch was initially helpful for pacers and later eased out as akmal showed with his 100.Perth pitch is more green than karachi but it still becomes good for batting after 20 overs. When someone takes a hattrick you cant attribute it wholly to the conditions. You cant take the credit away from the bowler.

Any team requires luck going their side to win a title like world cup.And regarding making use of home conditions, the conditions in all the four subcontinent countries are more or less the same.so sri lanka and pakistan also had fairly equal chance to win and not just india.

Kenya also made 262 against australia in the same world cup.does that mean australian bowling was weak?and citing an example of RSA and ENG chasing 300 isnt fair.they are very strong teams.South Aafrica chased 435 against australia in 2006 and ireland chased 330 against england in wc.Oh,so australian and english bowling are useless.its a matter of chance my friend.

It never happened to them in back to back matches but in case of india the huge score were being made or chased in back to back matches ....if its one time we can say today was not our day but if happens day after day or atleast 3-4 times in 5 matches then we cant say the same

Karachi wicket was not batsman friendly and neither it became later on...it was not a typical karachi wicket rather was deliberately changed to 360 degree .... the pitch never became easy after some overs rather it was difficult throughout the game the evidence is india with a big packed batting line up got out in both innings for around 200 runs .....

Mohali pitch was not that flat as we have seen in past rather it was deliberately changed to assist spinners and bowlers with low pace...... like Abu dhabi pitch previously used against SL was a good scoring pitch where the match was drawn against SL as well as previously against SA but this time round the pitch changed its behaviour dramatically, the game finished in 4 days rather even a hour less than 4 days ,it was a low scoring game with eng bowled out on just 72, the purpose for this is that yes there are certain behaviours associated with certain grounds/tracks but they can be changed deliberately to one's advantage when required

And my friend sri lankan conditions are not identical to other sub-continent conditions like Pakistan or india ....the pitches in sri lanka are pretty difficult to bat on and you will hardly see 300s scored on those pitches ...the games there are usually pretty low scoring like Pakistan got out on 185 against canada , and then we got them on around 140, similarly we got aus on 175 runs, and against sri lanka we easily defended 269 runs , In past even very low scores have been defended in sri lanka on many many occasions but this has not been the case on indian pitches

Lolz, What a way to insult Indian Cricket during India Aussie 4th test final day play ..... :D :D :D

10 fielders surrounded inside the ring to get their top batsman
Just count , 9 fielders + wicket keeper in snap & 11th man bowler.

The batsman is Ishant Sharma ,the bowler, not a top batsman. He was sent in as nightwatchman.

India again lost by 31 runs in a t20 as well... this time they lost from a new and inexperience aus team ....out of which most were playing their first international match .... now this is some humiliation really

Can my thread be closed?

no not at all .........wait for the whole series may be a white wash in all aspects lol but seriously don't be frustrated...closing this thread will not change the fate of your team...for that your team needs to focus more on international matches rather than money making leagues....at the moment they are playing more for themselves rather than the country or nation
