We should seriously be researching ETC cannons. They sound like the future. We could implement ETC technology into the Altay project so that we can keep the 120mm but also have better penetration than 140mm cannons. If it requires extra space then we should consider allocating an area in the cabin for it. ETC sounds very practical in my opinion.

I dont understand one thing. Why anyone say if we put a altay diffrent engine tank must change completly ?
Britishs put challenger IIE's 1500 hp turbodiesel engine instead of 1200 hp engine without any completly modification or Frenchs put inside Leclerc Mtu powerpack behalf of orginal one on Uae leclercs without any major change.

I can accept if we try to 1500 hp engine to a tank who designed for 1200 hp engine. Just because maybe powertrain cant resist torque of new 1500 hp engine but this tank already designed for 1500 hp engine 1300 hp cant effect the tank I think.

So why not we try on 1200-1300 hp class italian, british, ukranian engines ? Merkava mark 3 63.5 tonnes and can move 60 km/h with 1200 hp engine. 1300 hp italian engine can be good for altay if we find good transmission. For me .

After 1500 hp engine developed we can upgrade our fleet. Altay max speed of 70 km/h . 10 km/h nothing important for production of altay.

Why ? Leclerc isnt designed on warsatila engine or challenger II isnt designed on RR engine ?

İf we use auto loader we can gain extra 5-6 tonnes who germans did on embt project. And also 1300 hp iveco engine enough for stop gap on altay. Also if we can use on him 120 mm l/55 unmanned turret that is totally diffrent story.

60-65 km/h is a not bad speed for stop gap. We already usa 50-55 km/h the speed sabras or 48 km/h speded m-60's

Please correct me, I remember that the MTU engine on ALTAY isn't 1500 hp. It limited via software for this purpose. Actually without engine change unnecessary for this power upgrade if we have a chance to use same engine.

Correct, MT883 can theoretically provide 1630hp, however, it is not sustainable. It will damage and worn out the engine. So they (BMC) requested an actual 1600+hp powerpack.

Wonder what will be the difference with the current armor. And will the armor provided by Roketsan?

Yes, it is still Roketsan. My guess is, they will change the special armor inlets, the armor composition, and the composite matrix.

Why don't you blame Otokar, since they designed the tank? But instead people here will find an excuse to blame BMC. All you Otokar fans, please answer the question or remain silent with your propaganda in future.

What if we are integrate a Leopard 2a4 mtu 873 1500 hp engine to Altay and İveco 1300 hp + german transmission to Leopard 2a4's. We can just add leopard 2a4's a shaped era armor + pulat and we update him to leo 2a5 level . İt will be around 55 tones etc. Airete's with same tone they will reach 65 km/h.

350 Modified Leo 2a4 to 2a5 + 150 around M-60 sabra Fırat + 350 Altay with 2a4 engine and transmis... =800-850 modern battle survival tank. İf we support him 600 modified and coaxial atgm added acv-300 + 200 tulpar or korhan it would be great tank arsenal until complete altay comes.
