officially we spend on defence as much money as the philippines. that is not a secret is that we get more for our money than the philippines. for example, we have a navy with corvettes, frigates and submarines, while none exists in the philippines. no need to mention we have a very modern coast guard. and the airforce? well, there is no comparison.
corruption exists everywhere, but corruption in the philippines seems worse than in vietnam.
by the way, our ground, air and navy is much stronger than indonesia.
How much do you spend exactly? Give an estimated number. For ASEAN, you do have a very impressive military. You punch above your weight. Now I know why you always disrespect the Indonesia. LOL
I hope so, friend. For a big country like Indonesia with a long coast, you do really need to invest more in Navy and Air. Forget about land. To keep an edge on ASEAN as a potential leader, you need to be twice as strong as the Vietnam. We know them too well. They will not respect you if you have an inferior Airpower.Beside having 50 planes of 4 gen fighters in the end of 2015. We will also add three squadron more until 2024. Currently we have already decided to replace our old F-5 into Su 35 fighter, 16 planes. For the new three squadrons (48 planes), we dont know yet about the type of fighters, but I hope it should also be Su 35, with its 30 years air frame life time, long range operation and ability to load many missile and bombs, it can be a good one to accompany KFX/IFX fighters. So 114 fighters already (comprised of 4 and 4 ++ gen fighters)
After 2024, at least we are going to have 50 KFX/IFX (based on current plan). And we are not going to rush. Step by step buddy...........
