Air Forces of South China Sea claimants

Oki oki, cool of bro. Just stay on the topic,

Who strayed fromt he topic in the first place?? Who continue to bait me?? Why didn't you give that jack *** the same advice. But I will be the reasonable person here and pretend that he doesn't exist from now on.

Sure, but what is our plan going ahead. Indonesia is ordering a ton of subs wouldn't that balance out in the near future?? Compare to Thailand, I believe we are still weaker.

To be honest, the first conflict may potentially be China vs Taiwan. This is why I don't VN to be in the USA's camp fully. We can stuffs from them sure, but don't piss off Russia while doing it. Because if China and Taiwan is going to war if one is to believe the military figure heads in these nations and the warhawk in America, then other USA allies may get drag into war. Even then I doubt it.

How is it possible though?? Their gpd per capita is still higher than the us. Malaysia for example maybe weaker now. But they could easily catch up if they divert some of their funds (which they are doing right now). I am more happy that our economy improved. I guess I can carry this topic to the vietnam thread.

Taiwanese combat jets are F-16s, Mirage 2000-5s, and IDFs. They are all fourth-generation. Incorrectly calling them "old planes" only shows your ignorance.

Taiwan's F-16s are equipped with long-distance American AIM-120 AMRAAMs. Also, Taiwan's F-16s are being upgraded to AESA radars. Taiwan's F-16 fleet is far superior technologically to Vietnam's air force.

Taiwan's Taiping Island in the South China Sea was the largest island until China's reclamation.

Those particular models are decades old, they don't have the slightest chance against SU-30MK2, it would be turkey shooting.

That airfield is only for the C-130, no Taiwanese ever claimed that they can operate fighter jets from there, but oh I forgot, Martian knows better.

You talking about ignorance, what a laugh.

Where do you get all these info?? When I look at these things, JIK59 bomber or FFF69 or whatever, it makes no sense to me. Is there a website to go to for this??

You're pretty dumb.

The Vietnamese jets do not have AESA. They also don't have long-range AIM-120C missiles.

First detection and first kill with long-range AMRAAMs. Taiwan wins hands down.

The Taiwanese planes are UPGRADED.

The Taiwanese Mirage 2000-5s are E and D models.

The IDFs are also upgraded.

>____< hmm no, I like Ho Chi Minh more. I just watch a lot chinese tv shows because most of viet tv shows are mostly shit. Though lately, a lot of chinese tv shows are shit too. So I will stick to American tv shows. I see what you are doing, you want to instigate that guy further. I just want to see the Yellow race shine that is all.

Wrong on all counts, most of the Taiwanese planes are NOT upgraded, they are talking about upgrading them, but still not decided.

The Taiwanese jets also don't have AESA and the radar of the SU-30 is far more powerful and it detect them first.

The Mirages are almost not operational because of luck of spare parts.

Have you ever heard of R-77 air to air missiles? Good luck for your Taiwanese friends.

Still, all this is irrelevant because Taiwan can't operate jets in that tiny air base which anyway, it would be totally destroyed in a few minutes by ballistic missiles.

Taiwan is a rich country and it buys the best. Vietnam is a poor country and it buys so-so weapons. Taiwan's Taiping airbase is currently the largest in the Spratly Islands.

Taiwan F-16 Radar Upgrade Moving Forward

Taiwan has 338 AIM-120C missiles. The AIM-120C has a range of 105km or more.

Missile fault blamed on humidity - Taipei Times
"The air force currently has 120 AIM-120C-5 and 218 AIM-120C-7 advanced medium-range air-to-air missiles (AMRAAM) in its inventory.

The 'fire-and-forget' missiles are used on its 146 F-16 aircraft. The first order of AIM-120s was delivered to the air force in 2004."

How much do you spend exactly? Give an estimated number. For ASEAN, you do have a very impressive military. You punch above your weight. Now I know why you always disrespect the Indonesia. LOL.
nobody knows the exact figure except the government. that makes things more interesting.

I hope so, friend. For a big country like Indonesia with a long coast, you do really need to invest more in Navy and Air. Forget about land. To keep an edge on ASEAN as a potential leader, you need to be twice as strong as the Vietnam. We know them too well. They will not respect you if you have an inferior Airpower.
military speaking, indonesia is just a gnome. their army is trained to fight against domestic separarists, terrorists and the likes. or sinking other nations fishing vessels. they pose no challenge to a regional and external rivals. I bet malaysia army even is stronger.

I remember discussing this topic with "The Fianancier" a few years ago.

I don't know where it is, because I have written thousands of posts over the last six years.

If you have the time and inclination, feel free to look through the Vietnamese Defense section on the Chinese Defence Forum (CDF). I think it's in there somewhere. I tend to put most of my posts on CDF to avoid the trolls on PDF.

LOL I see you re-use your posts, saving time and money
what do you want to prove? singapore army can beat vietnam on battlefields? :D

As I said, most Taiwanese planes are not upgraded, their F-16s are version A/B block 20 and that's their main plane.
They've been talking about upgrading the F-16, but talking is not the same as UPGRADED.

Like I said, those Mirages are barely operational.

The Taiwanese built jets are a laugh.

Do you have any idea what the weather conditions in SCS do to unprotected planes? Obviously you don't have a clue.

Like I said, totally irrelevant, Taiwan can't operate jets in SCS, that's only your distorted dream.

You can keep claiming the poorly trained and poorly equipped Vietnamese air force to be a superpower. No one else agrees with you.

Tell me, how many hours of flight training do Vietnamese pilots receiver per year? I doubt Vietnam can afford to pay for the jet fuel.
----------

Taiwanese pilots receiver 180 hours of flight training per year.

Sorry, I don't remember that claim, can you give me the quote?
I only said that SU-30MK2 is superior to ALL planes that Taiwan has right now when to comes to air combat and most impartial people will agree to that and lets not even talk about the difference in range for those jets, an element that would be important in SCS.

You keep evading the main subject, show me a pic of Taiwanese jet in that airfield or any sort of proof of Taiwan wanting to operate jets in that base.

You can't because it only exists in your mind.

The airfield exists. The jets exist.

Try putting the two together in your head. It's not that hard.

Jet flies from Taiwan to Taiping Island. Can you understand that?

Look, I don't care what you want to believe and I'm not interested in arguing with you endlessly.
----------

I've covered the upgrades to Taiwan's F-16s, Mirage Es and Ds, and upgraded IDFs.

I've given a citation for 338 Taiwanese AIM-120Cs.

I've also shown a picture of Taiwan's huge Taiping Island in the South China Sea.

Finally, I've given a citation for 180 hours of flight training for a Taiwanese combat pilot.

Putting it all together, I say Taiwan has the much stronger air force. Earlier, I had shown that Taiwan has 325 combat jets vs. Vietnam's 48.

The reader gets to decide for themselves whether I have made my case.

I've said everything that I wanted to say.

Show me the beef, pictures, I never heard of jets flying to Taiping, you made the claim, show me the proof or shut up.

You are the one that placed the 2 together in your head not having any clue about the impossibility of actually doing so which is how you make most claims in PDF, just stuff in your mind, more like in the mind of a 12 year old.
