it is fact Iranian are more nationalistic than anything else, even I have noticed our side of Persian-speaking Baluch tribes.
No such thing as parsi speaking Baluch tribes exists.
The hazaras speaks dari or perhaps the Qazilbash/tajiks.
The Shia/Sunni ratio is roughly the same inversely in Pakistan as it is in Iran, however at least half of heads of state belonged to the Shia minority and the head of military, Joint Chief of Staff was a Shia (Gen. Musa Khan) back in the 60s.
Never knew quarter of Irans population is Sunni like Paks ia shia.
That said Gen Musa wasnt the only one. Air Mar Sharbat Ali Changezi and many others however in Pakistan we dont make a big thing out of merit based promotions. Its not uncommon here like Iran which is essentially is essentially a shia state. Pak despite being majority sunni isnt a secterian state.

We don't Care about sects too. There are hundreds of Sunnis serving in IRGC and army. When someone becomes head of a navy, you should note that there are tens of his kind in the body of navy، i mean among the Lower ranks. This is not the only One admiral from Sunni background and won't be the last one. IRIAF, IRIN, IRGC etc etc.

Pakistan has several more terrorist groups and sectarian attacks. To take your example of Hazaras they have been targeted in killings for decades.

Iranian Supreme leader appoints admiral Shahram Irani to the Iranian navy commander. He is first Sunni commander of the navy and from Kurdish background.
Sunnis of Baluchistan and Kurdistan are celebrating this appointment.
A Sunni MP thanked the Supreme leader for this appointment in a letter to Ali Khamenei the Supreme leader of Iran.
Well done. Merit must always be kept. Best of luck to the new Admiral in chief.

We had Shia Bhuttos ruling the country.
Many shia Military top brass. And on many crucial positions.
But still Pakistan is "bad for shia" and some shia "genocide " us going on 8n Pakistan.
😆

Hazaras in Quetta are behind walls and military checkpoints after several terrorist attacks in their district. Now they are targeted elsewhere in the city when they leave. I am sure it is of great comfort that there are shia officers in the military.

That is more ethnic than religious issue. They look and talk different from everyone else in Balochistan.

Terrorism v state sponsored sectarianism.

@DESERT FIGHTER might have different opinions but he surely is not what you called. But a friend with different thoughts

Terrorism in Pakistan has one big victim and it is Indeed people of Pakistan. The madrassas funded by the Sauds has caused backwardness in the society keeping a small portion of Pakistani people illetrate and emotional religious fanatics.

Thankfuly people are waking up to reality of Sauds and hence Pakistan progressing and thriving.

In order to end the terrorism in country they have to cut Off Foreign funds and Foreign hands trying to spread armed conflict all over the country.

state sponsored sectarianism.

How you define sectarianism, as well as a sectarian state? Would you say that organizing the governing principle of a state around the beliefs at least nominally held by the overwhelming majority of the population (over 90% in fact, and even more in the early years of the Revolution), is itself an act of sectarianism? If so, is there no justification to this sort of 'sectarianism', as opposed to say, takfir, persecution and terrorism (wherever these occur)?

As concerns access to governmental functions, Sunni Muslims are quite proportionally represented in Iranian state institutions and bodies. So here there's not too much of a difference.

Please also note that a Sunni alim was among the handful of jurists who wrote down the current Iranian Constitution after the 1979 Revolution.

At the end of the day, it appears that the state which you consider to be a sectarian one, has had a superior record in ensuring the security of its citizens who belong to minority sects... In fact since 1979, there has not been a single targeted armed attack against Iranians of Sunni Muslim faith, whether from the state or from terrorist groups.

When it comes to Iran's foreign policy, in my previous post the numerous instances of Iranian support for the struggles of Sunni Muslim nations are mentioned, from Bosnia to Palestine and Kurds of Iraq threatened by "I"SIS.

In Pakistan those two go hand in hand. State sponsored groups commit terrorist attacks. The Dawn article is an illuminating example.

Yes, then we are in agreement that anti Hazara attacks have been going on for decades.
