Afghan policeman shoots dead five British soldiers

Not interested. The fabricated and now de-classified 'Gulf of Tonkin' incident as the ‘legitimate reason’ of waging war on Vietnam is sufficient for me to anticipate what kind of 'education' you will give me. Yes, if you have something about Science to tell me, go ahead, this is where I really respect Americans and American Institutions and listen to them with great enthusiasm.
Did not think so. You are just like the many self-proclaimed 'Vietnam War' experts I find on so many discussion forums who bailed when they are challenged.

Neither you had challenged me, nor did I bail out. I have never claimed myself to be an expert of anything, not even of what I do professionally. There is always room for improvement, hence there is no such thing as perfect except for the God Almighty.

You represent the side of the invaders, and I am simply not interested in getting myself ‘educated’ on the Vietnam issue from those who were among the invaders. I am on the side of the oppressed and will remain so always. There is tons of material available written largely by the pro-Invader western authors, yet its is more than clear who was the oppressor and who was the oppressed even from those one-sided so called analyses. So please save your breath and ‘educate’ those who have little or no access to libraries, or those who believe more in listening to the stories from the war veterans than reading by themselves from various source (both independent and otherwise) as reading is far more labor intensive and tiresome.

Please don’t take it personally; but you being a Vietnamese who helped the invading forces against his own country and people could educate me unbiasedly on Vietnam War is something I just can’t buy. Maybe I am bias, but I guess so long my bias is supporting the oppressed, I am fine with it.

Do not pretend that you are on the side of the 'oppressed' when you decide to bring up the Vietnam War as a convenient rhetorical club against the US. I speak from two perspectives: As a Vietnamese who is against communism, and as a US citizen who served in the US military to stand against communism, the true oppressors of the world. When you bring on the Vietnam War as that convenient rhetorical club, you are in effect portraying yourself as that 'expert', speaking to the gullible. I bring an alternate view. You ran. Simple as that. So either exercise some intellectual honesty and face my challenge. Or shut up about the Vietnam War.

Oh, so you are Vietnamese not an American (citizen yes)! Now I am really not interested in learning anything on Vietnam fiasco from you. I am happy with whatever little I know about Vietnam.

At any rate, this thread is about the killing of British soldiers by an alleged Afghan Policeman. Talking about Vietnam is de-railing this thread, and before the Mods remind us about this fact, I will leave this topic for good.

Good...Now it is clear to everyone that as a self-proclaimed Vietnam War 'expert' who does not hesitate to use the conflict as nothing more than a convenient rhetorical club against the US, you are not so much knowledgeable when challenged after all. You admit you know very little and have no choice but to resort to intellectual cowardice to preserve your ignorance lest you lose this convenient rhetorical club.

"The news did not give any details why they have shot the americans soldiers."

The first detail that's listed in the heading of the thread is that they are British soldiers.

R.I.P. to these fine men. I feel deep, deep sorrow at their loss and am pained for their families and friends.

... what about the innocent civilian (includes women and children) killed every week by illigimate drone attacks? :coffee:

Reminds you? Please...You do not know about the Vietnam War and Viet Nam as much as you are trying to pass yourself off to be. I am a Viet who survived the 1968 Tet Offensive. I can educate you about the Vietnam War that will make you doubt what you think you know about the conflict, the country and the people.

good to know that, please educate us about Vietnam, do mention the reasons of American's latest misadventure in Afghanistan? please dont give lame excuse of world has threat from this region... even if that is the case do you really know the reasons why muslims all over the world hates jews and their friends?

if west really sincere to make world a peaceful place then their puppet UN must resolve issues in Palestine, Kashmir, Iraq, Afghanistan Nigeria, Somalia and in other states just like they did promptly in East Timor, and we all know the reasons why UN reacted so quick to resolve and created East Timor where they waited and let serbs to slaughter muslims in Bosnia. world has seen double standards so many times. and recently your own media has reported and showed how innocent Gazans were bombed with banned phosphorus (chemical) weapons

Reaction to this is obvious and will never end coz injustice never last long. :coffee:

I would be definitely talking the same if I was sitting in UK watching BBC, CNN, SKY, FOX and other channels full of black propaganda. Had Taliban been that bad, why did they ruled staggering majority of Afghan territory and all that without conquering my arms? Just give yourself a second thought and ask the people who are living under US/NATO/UK's invasion in Iraq. Spend some time searching and comparing what USA/UK is doing in Afghanistan and what was the shape of it before devils invaded Afghanistan which was at peace after decades of wars with USSR.

my friend, i used to live under the taliban rule for many years before i left afghanistan in 2001(march). dont tell me about the situation of afghanistan as i have spent almost all my life in misery in afghanistan, you cant feel it, but i do. that is another mis information from you, the taliban didnt take afghanistan(or i should say big part of the country) without fighting, there were huge and bloody fights until the time they fled kabul due to american attacks. they massacared thousands andd thousands of innocent people including many children and women, they used to kill people who had different belief from them(shias), they were killing people from other ethnic groups other than from them(just because they were different from them), google and see what they did in the past and how many innocent blood was spilt by their hand and now, they are killing more innocent people than the americans do. and dont tell me i need to research because my family and relatives live there and i am concerned about their safety and security, i was there myself a month ago.

Have you been to Afghanistan and experienced how life is under the occupation forces and corrupt Karzai & Co? NATO/ISAF is there to help? Indiscriminate killing, supporting corrupt and ruthless regime, protecting war and drug lords, is that how people are helped? This reminds me of Vietnam; guess what, the French and Americans were also there to help the people. Millions of innocents Vietnamese were massacred, but pity on those Vietnamese scumbags, they never understood that occupation forces were only there to help. Idiot was Ho Chi Minh who lead the resistance and today is worshiped in Vietnam as a demigod. Similar things happened in Iraq and Somalia; again, pity on Iraqi and Somali scumbags, they never understood that they were being bombed and massacred only because the occupation forces were trying to help them. Every now and than Japanese girls are raped by the Marines stationed in Okinawa, poor protesting Japanese, just cant understand that the rapists were only trying to help the victims. Now the Japanese are asking the American forces to leave Okinawa on Japanese expenses, pity on these Japanese scumbags.

and how will the taliban be different from karzai? the corruption was rocketing high during the taliban, i wasnt able to get a passport i needed until i paid bribe, you couldnt do anything without bribe or you had to knew a mullah to help you, let alone being beaten up because ya had a small beard and many other things. and drug, the bigest drug lords are the taliban.

I wholeheartedly respect your opinion which is as you have mentioned, based on your personal experience. I will not defend un-defendable; yes the Afghans have generally shown thanklessness. However, when it comes to take sides between my thankless and arrogant neighbor and a gang of ruthless muggers, I will chose to take side of my neighbor albeit of all his thanklessness and arrogance.

Afghans are not ungrateful to what people of pakistan as a nation offered us(their help), paksitani nation is kind and great people and we have always been thankful to them, the same thing goes to iranian public, you cant find any afghan condemning pakistan nation, . as per pakistan gov and their policies towards afghanistan, that is a different story.

there is no drone attacks in afghanistan.

If the drone strikes are being done in Pakistan, don't you think same would also would be used in Afghanistan too. US is using the armed drones in every theater of their war of oppression.

By the way, the member was referring to the US drone strikes in Pakistan in reply to the other member post.

Also hope you do hear about the civilians killed in US airstrikes in Afghanistan.

Go to youtube and search for insurgents being taken out by predators or drones, will give you an idea what i am trying to say. Drones armed with missiles can also be used in Afghanistan to monitor some area and if some target is identified, it can be taken out in real time without wasting the opportunity. e.g insurgents placing an IED and detected and can be taken out that very moment or anything else like that.

Drone strikes in our area are not hidden as US does not strikes on a sovereign nation, but if such attacks do happen they won't be known as its their occupational area where they can do anything anytime of the day.
