The results of a new survey released by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), as deplorable as they are, show that Iran is the least anti-Semitic country in the Middle East.

Not that the ADL is doing anything to point this out in their just-released report entitled, Global 100: An Index of Anti-Semitism. This surprising fact can only be uncovered by comparing Iranian responses with those of other Middle Eastern countries.

According to the index scores of the more than 100 countries around the world included in the survey, the most anti-Semitic place on earth is the West Bank and Gaza (93%). Iraq isn’t far behind the Palestinian territories, which are, of course, under Israeli occupation. But Iran doesn’t even make it into the survey’s worldwide top 20 anti-Semitic hotspots.

The first of the eleven statements to which respondents were asked to categorize as “probably true” or “probably false” was Jews are more loyal to Israel than to [this country/to the countries they live in]. While 56% of Iranians responded in the affirmative, in other MENA countries the percentage of respondents agreeing with this assertion were significantly higher: Saudi Arabia 71%; Lebanon 72%; Oman 76%; Egypt 78% Jordan 79%; Kuwait 80%; Qatar 80%; UAE 80%; Bahrain 81%; Yemen 81%; Iraq 83%; West Bank and Gaza 83%. (It’s too bad that Israel was not among the countries surveyed. It would be interesting to know what Israelis believe on this point.)

The other indicators of anti-Semitic attitudes were:

Jews have too much power in the business world. Iran 54%; Saudi Arabia 69%; Oman 72%; Egypt 73%; UAE 74%; Lebanon 76%; Qatar 75%; Bahrain 78%; Jordan 79%; Kuwait 79%; Yemen 82%; Iraq 84%; West Bank and Gaza 91%.

Jews have too much power in international financial markets. Iran 62%; Oman 68%; Egypt 69%; Saudi Arabia 69%; UAE 71%; Qatar 71%; Jordan 76%; Bahrain 76%; Lebanon 76%; Kuwait 77%; Yemen 78%; Iraq 85%; West Bank and Gaza 89%.

Jews still talk too much about what happened to them in the Holocaust. Iran 18%; Yemen 16%; Saudi Arabia 22%; Egypt 23%; Kuwait 24%; Lebanon 26%; Jordan 29%; Iraq 33%; Oman 42%; UAE 45%; Bahrain 51%; Qatar 52%; West Bank and Gaza 64%.

Jews don’t care what happens to anyone but their own kind. Iran 50%; Egypt 68%; Oman 70%; Lebanon 71%; Kuwait 73%; UAE 73%; Saudi Arabia 74%; Jordan 75%; Qatar 75%; Bahrain 75%; Iraq 76%; Yemen 80%; West Bank and Gaza 84%.

Jews have too much control over global affairs. Iran 49%; Oman 67%; Saudi Arabia 70%; Egypt 71%; Qatar 73%; UAE 73%; Bahrain 76%; Iraq 77%; Lebanon 77%; Jordan 78%; Kuwait 80%; Yemen 80%; West Bank and Gaza 88%.

Jews have too much control over the United States government: Iran 61%; Oman 67%; Saudi Arabia 70%; UAE 72%; Jordan 73%; Lebanon 73%; Qatar 73%; Egypt 74%; Bahrain 77%; Kuwait 78%; Yemen 79%; Iraq 85%; West Bank and Gaza 85%.

Jews think they are better than other people: Iran 52%; Lebanon 61%; Egypt 66%; Oman 66%; Qatar 67%; Bahrain 68%; UAE 68%; Saudi Arabia 69%; Kuwait 71%; West Bank and Gaza 72%; Jordan 73%; Yemen 76%; Iraq 80%.

Jews have too much control over the global media: Iran 55%; Bahrain 61%; Oman 65%; Egypt 69%; Saudi Arabia 69%; Qatar 70%; UAE 70%; Kuwait 72%; Lebanon 73%; Iraq 77%; Jordan 77%; Yemen 79%; West Bank and Gaza 88%.

Jews are responsible for most of the world’s wars: Iran 58%; Qatar 64%; Lebanon 65%; Oman 65%; UAE 65%; Kuwait 66%; Saudi Arabia 66%; Egypt 66%; Jordan 67%; Bahrain 71%; West Bank and Gaza 78%; Yemen 84%; Iraq 85%.

People hate Jews because of the way Jews behave: Iran 64%; Lebanon 76%; Bahrain 77%; Kuwait 80%; Egypt 81%; Oman 81%; Iraq 81%: Saudi Arabia 81%; Qatar 82%; UAE 82%; Jordan 84%; West Bank and Gaza 87%; Yemen 90%.

Iran has a complicated relationship with its Jewish community, and has a long way to go before it can be considered a safe haven for Jews, even if some Persian Jews may disagree. Still, the ADL’s data makes it clear that Iran is not only the least anti-Semitic country in its region, it also scores far better on every one of the ADL’s eleven survey indicators by a statistically significant margin. That’s something worth thinking about.

I never knew that Jews were the only Semitic people. Somewhere I heard about a people known as Arabs that nearly number 450 million people worldwide and who are the second biggest ethnic group in the world after the Han Chinese.

Someone also once told me that they are Semites too and apparently cousins of Jews.

Something tells me that Iran would be the most anti-Semitic country in the ME if certain other Semitic ethnic groups were included…….

Useless statistics.

ADL is no friend of Iran. They're actually advocating for more Iran sanctions. I don't know why you're even trying to make excuses, but that won't be necessary.

ADL Welcomes Bipartisan Iran Sanctions Bill

This is not coming out of PRESS TV, but a Jewish Special Interest Group based in the USA.
And also, please don't reflect your personality upon others, I have never seen any Iranian to be as hateful towards Arabs, as you're towards the Iranians.

And by the way, not all Jews are Semite, for instance: I'm a Khazar Jew myself, or according to you Ashkenazi Jews are Europeans. So I don't quite understand the comparison.

Which excuses? I don't remotely care about the opinion of ME populations towards Jews. Still Iran can be considered anti-Jewish as even the author of the article states.

It's not my problem that you did not like the facts that I put forward. Jews do not have a patent on the word "Semitic". They are not even the biggest Semitic ethnic group. Far from it in fact.

Then you clearly have not visited your own section on PDF or encountered the numerous Farsi trolls on this section. I don't pity you for looking past all that. I would as well if it was the other way around.

The conclusion is still the same. Jews are not the only Semitic people. Thus Anti-Semitic is a wrong description here. If Arabs were included Iran would top the list. That's a fact.

I updated my previous post.
Anyway, I have got to go, late for work.

Askhenazi Jews themselves claim ancient Jewish/Hebrew ancestry and thus Semitic. I have never commented on the origin of Ashkenazi Jews. In fact I have stated that most can trace their ancestry to modern-day Israel and the ME.

Khazar Jews are a tiny, tiny minority. There are 100's times as many Sephardic and Mizrahi Jews. Basically Arab Jews.

So I am not sure what you are trying to prove here.

The phrase, "anti-Semitism" wasn't invented by Jews but by a 19th-century German writer. During that period it was unfashionable to criticize another German citizen on the basis of their religion, so criticism of Jews was based "scientifically" upon their race instead. The label, however inaccurate, has stuck - but it's always been meant to refer only to Jews, not other Semites.

If you read the report the confidence intervals are 3-5%.

Nevertheless a fairly recent, vague and by nature a wrong/incorrect definition and wording. It's very simple. You can't blame me for pointing that out.

Baseless claims. Whether the Ashkenazic Jews like it or not, they're descendants of Khazar Jews.

Everyone can make claims, simply making claims doesn't turn them into realities.

That's not what many genetic tests show and even if we assume that this is the case then why the need to attach the word Semite or Semitic for a people that are apparently not fitting such an description? Khazar's were of probable Turkic origins btw. So hardly European.

On the contrary, the recent genetic testings prove that they're descendants of Khazar. (Read the link I posted here)
And so what? We have all crawled out of Africa. You want to discuss evolution and origin of species now?

@Solomon2 Clearly explained the usage of the word "anti-Semitic" for ALL Jews is a clear misconception. So I hope we're clear on that.

I could claim that I'm a direct descendant of Moses. That doesn't makes it a reality.

Now I'm quite sure I'm right.

These studies revealed that Ashkenazi Jews originated in the Middle East during the Bronze Age (between 2500 BC and 700 BC), spreading later to Europe.[93]

A 2013 conference of the American Society of Human Genetics with more than 10 scientists participating concluded that there was "no indication of Khazar genetic ancestry among Ashkenazi Jews".[125]

Most of all Jewish paternal lineages whether Sephardic, Mizrahi or Ashkenazi show a prevalence of Middle Eastern lineages. Every group on earth have admixture and "European" admixture (overall) is not changing the nature of the overall paternal lineages.

You are wrong. You were also wrong by claiming Khazar's as Europeans. Spreading an incorrect description is neither accurate. Anti-Jewish makes 1000% more sense.

Those findings were disproved. It's not hard to google the genetics of Askhenazi Jews. Most trace their paternal ancestry to the Middle East. It's very simple. More or less every finding shows that. Not Central Asia.

Don't confuss admixture with paternal lines. (Y-DNA).

You are repeating the same thing over and over again. I'm using voice assist for this discussion, by the way.
