TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The spokesman for the Iranian Police said neighboring Pakistan should accept its responsibility for a cross-border terrorist attack by Takfiri militants that killed 10 Iranian border guards in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan.

Speaking to the Tasnim News Agency late on Wednesday, Brigadier General Saeed Montazer-al-Mahdi confirmed the terrorist attack and said the border guards were killed by long-range weapons firing from inside Pakistan.

The Pakistani government is to blame for the incident and they should be accountable for it, the spokesman said.

Takfiri militants shot to death 10 Iranian border guards who were patrolling on the frontier with Pakistan on Wednesday.

The Iranian troops were martyred in an ambush by the terrorists in Mirjaveh in the Iran-Pakistan border’s zero-point.

A terrorist group calling itself Jaish al-Adl has claimed responsibility for the deadly attack.

@The Eagle why change the title? The Iranian Police Chief has made it very clear the terrorists attacked from the Pakistani side of the border.

FM spokesman expresses sorrow over martyrdom of border guards

Ghasemi said the Pakistani government should be accountable to the presence and operations of terrorist groups in its territory.

He also extended his condolences over death of Iranian border guards martyred in a recent clash with terrorists in the city of Mirjaveh in Iran’s southeastern province of Sistan-Baluchestan.

Ghasemi underlined that the recent terrorist attacks committed armed bandits and terrorist groups, that are used as a tool by some certain supporters of violence, extremism and Takfiri terrorist along the borders of Iran and Pakistan, are seriously condemned and unacceptable.

Those countries (Pakistan) that are participating in the anti-terrorist coalition should respond that why they are unable to deal with terrorist groups and armed bandits in their own territories, he added.

Ghasemi underlined that Iran’s diplomatic apparatus is not going to spare any efforts to follow the issue by using all available diplomatic channels to punish the sinister terrorists.

On Wednesday (April 26) evening, nine Iranian border guards were martyred during an attack by terrorists.

They were reportedly killed while patrolling in the city of Mirjaveh, located 75 km east of the provincial capital city of Zahedan.

He doesn't count Iranian sources !!!

:disagree:

Hi!

Its me that also does not counted any Pakistani Source. There is no need to get emotional on local media reports. However, if you want to blame it all on Pakistan, I am sure, you will be asking for assistance from your foreign office. Why to post such comments that may create further misunderstanding and rift among both nations. Pakistan condemns such attacks and killings of Iranian Guards.

As result shows we are dealing with terrorists very well. It has decreased more than 60% with in 2 years. It will take time to clear up mess created by our few neighbors and GCC.

This is totally new and bit of contradictory as compare to what Iran said. What of type of weapons are being discussed in this single line? and the operator?

It is new because the incident happened just yesterday and we had to wait for officials to give more details.

Its me that also does not counted any Pakistani Source.

Pakistani news agencies are also quoting the Iranian Police Chief.

10 Iranian border guards killed

LONDON: Ten Iranian border guards were killed by militants in an attack on the frontier with Pakistan on Wednesday, Tasnim news agency reported.

Iran-based militant group Jaish al Adl, or the Army of Justice, claimed responsibility for the attack, the report said.

“Ten border guards of Mirjaveh county in Sistan-Baluchestan province were martyred in an ambush by the terrorists in the Pakistani border’s zero-point,” Tasnim said.

In a statement carried on state media, the Iranian police said the guards were killed by long-range guns and “the Pakistani government bears the ultimate responsibility of the attack”.

Unless you mean that we need Pakistani officials to confirm this, but how could they? They would have no knowledge of the incident from their own sources since there is no report of Pakistani observation or Pakistani casualties (and therefore no eyewitnesses). The terrorists attacked an Iranian border post and the survivors of the attack would have been able to tell the Iranian authorities the exact nature of the attack. So Iran has all the information.

Most of those articles are copy pasted, likely from the same "associated press" bulletin, and actually the guardian article you posted included the Police Chief's statement that they came from the Pakistani side of the border!

Rest about what Police Chief claimed, is not proven yet

There is no need to get emotional on local media reports.

They are not simple local media. The Police Chief (senior official) confirmed this. Police are responsible for the border!

Lastly, separate from this matter about the location the terrorists came from, the title should be changed from " 'Terrorists' " to just " Terrorists ". Otherwise the apostrophes around the word "Terrorist" make it appear as if there is some dispute over the fact that Jaish ul Adl, a Salafist Jihadi group, is not a terrorist group.

What a stupid logic he presented. We shouldn't be a part of any anti terror coalition just because we have terrorism problem in our country? Seems like Iranian officials are so butthurt that their brains stopped working. Even a stupid spokesman is crying over it. Good

The irony is that countries who can't control the terrorists on their own soil, send out their troops to other countries to fight the so called terrorists!

Title is being copy pasted, without any alteration. However, there is no discrimination for any terrorist groups at all as Pakistan is more damaged and has been sustaining these injuries since long that I am sure you will be aware.

Police Chief claimed only what he knows about one side story but blaming Pakistan is not plausible at all. Indeed, we have to wait for further information, confirmation and more reports as what really happened.

Pakistani source does the same copy paste job as what is being reported in Iran w.r.t. Police Chief Statement though, Pakistani officials have to comment yet w.r.t. Chief's claim.

Unless you mean that we need Pakistani officials to confirm this, but how could they? As we are short of further information on this news, we must wait for other side of the story as well. As Iranian Police Chief made a claim against Pakistan, I am sure, sooner or later, Pakistan's Officials will be releasing a statement too but till now, whatever happened, the title represents the same in balanced manner about incident. Such provocative statements are harmful for the foreign relations of both countries, that too without any credibility or details of incident yet. Let's wait for the foreign office report. Pakistan will never allow anyone to use this soil against any nation and when it comes to Iran, none should have any doubt in this regards.

Why you guys are so delusional? what so called terrorists? For you Daesh is a so called terrorist organization? Alliance has not even started functioning yet and here you are trying to warn us about future like a najoomi.
