What's new

Turkish Air Defence Programs

I am truly surprised by the trio agreement between Turkey-France-Italy, on the development of a High Altitude SAM. France has always been vocal and against Turkey for a long time, so it comes as a shock with this news when they're agreeing to work together with Turkey on the development of its own SAM requirements.

Italy-Turkey ties however has always been positive for decades, so this is no surprise.

IIRC Eurosam offered co-development and Tranfers of Technology during the T-LORAMIDS tenders. They were shortlisted along with the Chinese because of this. I always said that we should have gone with them. Hope this news is true.

We should have just purchased couple batteries of Aster and reverse engineer one for our own needs.

An example is our reverse engineered Sentinel Radars which is an improved version of US ones.

i cant trust them
its for sure to halt our own development and just waste our time and still cant believe we fall in these traps

I don't think the British is sincere in lending us a hand in developing our own TFX but we shall see how things go.

It's more complicated. The Russians during the Cold War, through industrial spying, despite all their efforts have never really succeeded in catching up with the West.

Turkey has only one major problem : Its intercept missile.

And France (and Italy) needs many money - for R&D - to reach the higher stage, ‘the exo-atmospheric capability’.

And ?

What is the other choice for France in the NATO Western allies - with a political will independent of the US, financial and industrial capacity in the military defense sector - ?

German - The history past of the country - ? No.
UK ? Never.
So who ?

I think they will just oyalayacaklar bizi.

Are we going to join the Block2 Aster or first generation Aster missiles? If we are doing block 2to we are talking thing like Sm3. So why are people complaining?
