We don't view PKK or YPG as terrorists, Russia says: Report

Trusting russia is worse than trusting any country. We have a history of problems with them.

They never ever forget, but our peoples memories are short, we cant remember too far back.

YPG is most affective against ISIS. So till that time they are not terrorists.

This is a classic case of good terrorist bad terrorist.

Rymes with good taliban bad taliban in pakistan. Ultimately the entire area becomes a hell hole.

YPG is not the most affective force against IS in Syria. Most affective force against IS in Syria is, who US Airforce supports.

If US Airforce supports Assad, Assad is the most affective force against IS.
If US Airforce supports FSA, FSA is the most affective force against IS.
If US Airforce supports Hezbollah Terrorists, Hezbollah Terrorists are the most affective force against IS.
If US Airforce supports Al-Nusra Terrorists, Al-Nusra Terrorists are the most affective force against IS.

These developments that are happening around Turkey is extremely hazardous for it.
Mr Erdogan is forcing Turkey into confrontation with NATO and especially USA.
And let me reiterate, Russia is no ally of Turkey. Russian is in Syria for it's self interest only.

People forget that there can be no friendship in politics, yet alone in geo-politics.

The only way countries can act friendly to each other in the long term is if those countries have great dependencies on each other.

Right now we have a great dependency on russia, mainly because of energy.

However in the future, down on the road, that one-sided relationship will turn the other way around.

In the long term we will start producing 100% of our energy needs, effectively eliminating our need for russia.

And once that happens we will most likely take the full control of the straits in our hands. When these happen, it will be russia that is going to be dependent on us one-sidedly.

Russia knows all these, and she also knows the vulnerabilities of our country too. Russia wants to do anything she can in her abilities using her advantages and our disadvantages to stop us from trying to stop from being dependent on them any more.

It is not "hatred" or "lack of love and goodwill" like some of our naive forum members suggested.

There is no emotion in politics.

If Russia had guaranteed to keep us dependent on them at a level like Armenia is to them, then they would be the most pro-turkish country in the world now, giving us love rhetorics and licking our azzholes every once and now to earn local political capital in our country, because then they could afford it.

But future is bleak for Russia and they know it.

It is not a matter of history or emotions not even a bit, it is just a matter of realpolitics.

This will all be possible if our country stays a independent secular democracy, the way its going, just forget it.

It's surprising that an well educated person like you opposes our Nato membership. In my opinion we only benefited in economic terms. I think Nato had a negative impact on our defence industry.

NATO brought with it alot of shit, it handicapped us in so many ways. Our relationship with Azeris and far eastern Turkic countries, brought in powers who wanted to divide Turkey internally DHKP-C and PKK..

Keeping both NATO and USSR happy by being neutral to both would have been the better choice - I'm with Ataturk's reasoning on being truly independent.

Well 1GW of a solar power plant is to be built and many more is coming from the private sector.

If Erdogan could pull a Tony Abbot in regards to coal power plants, with renewables that are to come in folds, we can greatly reduce our Russian gas dependency.
