What do you think of adoption laws in India?

Adoption laws are too skewed which discourages people going that way.In a sense there are pros and cons too.
Adoption as present is not in favour of single parents.there is genuine concern from govt to discourage pedophiles adopting kids and exploiting them.

Here is the situation - I want to adopt a baby girl and my classmate and my friend - she is single - works as Professor in India and wants to adopt a girl as well. She could not and I have to wait for more than 3 years as per the laws passed by parliament last year.

Again adotion law clashes with AIMPLB just like divorce law ie shah bano type case ....

Even shushmita sen had to go through lot of hassel for adopting girl child as single parent .ultimately she was forced to go to the court.

That is true. My friend even went to the Minister - Kiran Walia?? but she is frustrated.
