Well, how is a natural formation considered a National monument? There's nothing out of the ordinary or manmade about the Ram Setu. It's a series of calcified corals. If it holds special value to Hindus, it must be declared as a Heritage site, not a monument. Cannot go about naming natural formations as monuments just because there's a Hindu legend associated with their creation.

I think the term 'National Monument' won't stick. But Heritage site is appropriate. Rarely do we see a coral bridge from one country to another. Or may be an 'International Monument'.
