Zhalay Sarhadi undertakes role of woman fighter pilot

Pakistani television actress and VJ Zhalay Sarhadi has put two teaser pictures on her social media accounts donning fighter pilot uniform.

The 35-year-old actress has not elucidated as to for what drama or film is she going to undertake this role of a woman fighter pilot but it can be assumed through pictures that her role would be a daring one.

Neatly-tied hair, like Angelina Jolie does in Tomb Raider, and a soft-ball size patch on her chest reveals that she is going to perform a role for squadron of Pakistan Air Force (PAF). This should also be noted that Sanam Baloch has already undertaken a similar role but of a celebrated woman fighter pilot of PAF, Marium Mukhtar, who is the first in Pakistan to die in the line of duty.

Marium was died after a PAF aircraft crashed in Mianwali on November 24, 2015.

The short film is aimed at honoring Marium’s services for her homeland.

Here's why Zhalay Sarhadi is posing next to a fighter jet
The actress will be a part of Shehzad Roy's music video specially shot for Defence Day.

If there one actress, who has that unique quality of making each character her own with her natural acting prowess, it's Zhalay Sarhadi. Whether it's her performance in Mann Pyasa, where she plays a gutsy journalist, Sumaira, or her devil-may-care attitude, this diva surely gives us a lot of reasons to love her! However, when we recently came across her picture dressed in an armed forces uniform standing in front of a fighter jet on Instagram, we naturally had to find out more about her upcoming project!

Looking at the picture posted by the actress herself, the first thing, which came to our minds remained that perhaps, Sarhadi is going to be a part of Sarmad Khoosat's upcoming telefilm Ek Thi Mariam. However, things are slightly different, as according to the actress herself, the shoot has a lot to do with a music video specially shot for Defence Day on 6th September.

Talking to HIP exclusively, Sarhadi revealed,

”No, it is not a play at all. In fact it is a music video for Shehzad Roy, he has sung a song 'Unchiaan Ni Shaanaan Teri', and it is a tribute to all three armed forces of Pakistan

Revealing more details about her role in the music video and its aesthetics, the actress added,

“I play a fighter jet pilot, and the video has been directed by Saqib Khan. It will be aired on 6th September.”

While Defence day transmissions are indeed going to be very special with some excellent projects airing on our television screens which we cannot afford to miss, Sarhadi's upcoming music video for Roy has already got us excited!

Besides appearing in the video, Sarhadi will also be seen soon in Umer Adil's directorial debut, Chalay Thay Saath alongside Syra Shahroze, Mansha Pasha, and Kent S. Leung, and is expected to release sometime next year.
