For the majority of countries this is the case but Afghanistan amongst some others is excluded. There are several reasons behind this:

1) Afghan refugees really do not want to leave Pakistan and will start bribing and marrying on paper Pakistani women in order to remain (organized criminal groups engage in this activity). This has happened in the past but the authorities due to I suppose humanitarian reasons have turned a blind eye (http://www.pakistantoday.com.pk/201...ed-for-issuing-fake-cnics-to-afghan-refugees/, http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/...litants-national-id-cards-20150902-story.html). However as part of an anti corruption and security (anti terror) clamp down, such activity is not being tolerated anymore, as terrorists have also utilized the same channels to attack our country.

2) Hostile attitude of the Kabul government. Due to hyper nationalism Afghanistan claims half of Pakistan's territory as Afghanistan and refuses to recognize the border between our countries. Such is their attitude that when Pakistan wanted to erect a simple border post at Torkham border crossing (standard activity throughout the world) a couple of months ago to monitor who was going in and out, Afghan soldiers started indiscriminate firing, killing one of our majors who was monitoring the construction of the post, by shooting him in the back like the cowards that they are.

Imagine if Greece, or Armenia started firing at your soldiers whilst they were constructing a simple border post at your respective borders. The last thing Turkey would do is to cowar back and be on the defensive.

3) Due to their frustration at not being able to do win any diplomatic or military victory over Pakistan, Kabul has increasingly turned towards India to put pressure on Pakistan. American and other Western sources (including generals and the likes of Chuck Hagel) have pointed out that the Indian secret agency (RAW) has been using Afghan territory to support terrorist movements inside Pakistan. This includes support to internationally recognized terrorist groups like the BLA (which UK for example considers a terrorist organization too). Kabul of course has turned a complete blind eye to this Indian activity and has also itself assisted these terrorist groups.

Again if Greece or Iraq gives support to groups like the PKK, the Turkish government doesn't step back and do nothing.

4) It has been consistently shown that terrorists attacking Pakistan have been coming from Afghanistan and have been using Afghan refugee camps within Pakistani territory to organize and launch their attacks.

As part of our struggle against terrorism, we have to clamp down on all sources through which terrorists are pouring through to attack our schools, police stations, army bases etc. The Peshawar School Massacre in which nearly 150 of our children were massacred was orchestrated by groups originating from Afghanistan.

In essence hence we cant just step back and say everything is fine and lovely. Of course the majority of Afghan refugees are not terrorists or criminals, but the actions of their government and the reality of the situation which is that their refugee camps are playing host to terrorist camps, means that the Pakistani state has had enough. We have hosted millions of Afghans for decades without little thanks from the rest of the world. The world can curse us for our "cold hearts" now but when 150 of your children are massacred in broad daylight then enough is enough.

Under Pakistani law, Statute trumps everything, except the Constitution, and under the relevant Statute anyone can apply. The government can deny it, if they want for cause, but I seriously doubt Afghans or Indians would not be permitted, as they concern the main source of immigration to Pakistan.

These are the daughters of their motherland Pakistan.They or their husband's committed no crime.Gov't of Pakistan should have made a law,making these marriages legal or illegal for the purpose of rights of permanent abode of the spouses.what about those Afghan ladies,who married Pakistani men,what about their children ? .Pakistan Gov't should accommodate such couples humbly and humanly by making their residence legally permanent .

I'm sorry. We are done doing that. There comes a point when you have to act tough. Afghans are involved in terror acts. Afghans are involved in criminal activities. The list of Afghan problems is endless. We can't afford it anymore. Time has come for the Afghan government to take care of its own citizens who are languishing in Pakistan.

Who says that Afghanistan isn't safe? NATO and US forces claim that they have defeated the Taliban. Afghanistan is today a much safer place for Afghans. Ghani can surely take care of his people.

Women who married Afghan refugees stage protest in Peshawar

Pakistani women who have married Afghan men staged a protest on Tuesday claiming that their husbands have been deported to Afghanistan.

The women said that they had been left alone to fend for their children. Some said that they were starving with their sole breadwinner deported.

The protesting women demanded that the government save their future and give Pakistani nationality to their husbands.

The Pakistan government has launched a clampdown on foreign nationals holding fake national identity cards. This month Nat-Geo famed Sharbat Gula was also deported to Afghanistan.

thats totally messed up , even in countries where where its difficult to get permanent stay marriage is the way to go
and u telling its easier to stay in the usa than pakistan
dont get me wrong i am against terrorists but 99 percent of afghans are not terrorists but have been persecuted by the whole world , made an escape goat and left

brother even according to the above provided link afghans men under no circumstance can apply for nationality.
while indian being part of common wealth citizen can apply by investing 5 million.but will almost always be denied citizenship.
that's what we were debating here in first place that these guys(not girls) can't get our nationality.

Don't give me that. Whether you like it or not, Afghans are already India centric. They live among us, but hate our country. All they did is bring opium and AK-47s to our land. No, not all Afghans are bad, but many are. We are going to kick them out and there is nothing anyone can do about that. We are sick and tired of seeing our children butchered by Afghan terror acts. Stop showing your sympathies to an enemy who has none for you.

I'm a Muslim too. I also believe in compassion. I also try to practice and hold dear the teachings of our holy prophet (PBUH). Does that mean that I should accept Afghan backstabbing? These nationalistic barbarians claim our land for heaven sake. Why don't you had it to them on a silver platter whilst you at it? They send their suicide bombers to kill our children. We provided them safety and shelter for decades. I don't ask gold in return. I neither expect violence, terror and criminality in return. This is what we are getting from many Afghans in Pakistan.

I want her to ho back but she can't because she married a pakistani.

She fights with us . Her also family members also fights with us .

Only those breaking the law or with fake/illegal papers are being deported so far. Not sure what they were thinking. At any rate Pakistan is cleaning house. Most refugees and all illegals need to leave
