Will Pakistan Recognize Israel?

honestly, I wouldn’t call it an inferiority complex. That’s a long stretch.

it’s just that nothing ever makes sense in Pakistan. Counterintuitive is the philosophy that guides everything that Pakistan does as a nation. There are many examples, don’t even get me started. Pakistan and Pakistanis will always chose the option that makes less logical sense.

We were once called international migraine by US secretary of state. Most of us enjoyed that label. We just like to do things 180 degrees to what others might do. "Go with the flow" doesnt work in Pakistan. We are not monolithic race like arabs or turks, rather we are a very ancient civilisation, hence you see a lot diversity within us, from blacks of southern baluchistan on the coastline to the whites of the north. Different ideas, different politics within, that's why our policies are not inline with other nations. Islam is however the major driving force within and when we look around , specially in this day and age, after coming out of this brutal war on/of terror, there is strong inclination to look into Islam for answers. And the way geopolitics is shaping up, it's all falling in line for what was already prophesied. Hence the beliefs are getting much stronger.

The issue of Isreal is no longer just a Palestinian issue, with all due respect, atleast for learned Pakistanis. There is a saying in Pakistan which goes like " one was created by Rehman, other was by Dajjal". And that's where the penny drop. The ultimate clash of good and evil.

People need to realise this media campaign is being run at the behest of Israel by the anti Islamic and anti Pakistan snakes in our media and elite class.

Our PM has said on air that Pakistan will not recognise Israel until there is an agreement that the Palestinians are happy with. He said he has faced pressure and rejected it. It is a principled stance based on the vision of our nations creator, our Islamic values and our diplomatic stance RE: Kashmir. It is the same reason we don't recognise Armenia as they have occupied Azerbaijani territory.

I see a systemic problem on this forum, where we have those people who are actually arguing for the recognition of pseudo Jewish state, called israel. I ask them this question, on what basis do you make such an argument?

The best way to build a Business case for Pakistan to recognize Israel is to blame it on India.

Everyone will fall in line.

Pakistan already has to deal with our enemy on the east that is seven times our size and three to four times our military strength and numbers India, plus we have and will have to deal with the volatile mess in Afghanistan, we have a workable relations with Iran and our borders with that state are mostly stable, recognising Israel and creating another pandora's box with Iran will not work in our interest in any way, there was a time when we jeopardised our own self-interests and helped the USA in dismantling the USSR and freed eastern Europe from communist control, our help and influence was taken for granted but that time has long gone, this is the new Pakistan.

According to the latest development, Pakistani anchors are speaking in support of establishing relations between Pakistan and Israel. In a video interview surfacing online, Mubashir Lucman speaks about the ideology that is fed to Pakistani citizens that keeps them away from recognizing Israel. The question remains, will Pakistan recognize Israel? Mubashir Lucman further reiterates that Pakistan needs to educate itself to overcome the hostility it harbors against Israel.

Will Pakistan recognize the state of Israel?
Another media person tweeted, “Anchor Mubashir Lucman appeared on an Israeli news channel, i24News, to argue for better ties between Pakistan and Israel. He added that Israel was not a dream, it is a reality. It is a very important country… the Israeli nation is a great nation.” While many people supported his stance, many others expressed criticism.

Another prominent Pakistani journalist, Kamran Khan tweeted, “Pakistan must also revisit it’s Israel policy. Message for we Pakistanis from the Custodians of the Holy Mosques and other brothers in the Arab world. Nations don’t have permanent friends or enemies, only interests. Why is Pakistan shy of exercising its options?” The common section beneath this tweet is filled with anti-Israel sentiments as most Pakistani citizens feel strongly against Israel’s activities in Palestine.

The question of whether Pakistan will recognize Israel is not a simple one, this issue involves multiple international and state actors as well. In other news, Saudi Arabia is exerting pressure on Pakistan to normalize diplomatic ties with Israel.

Push from other states
Last week, Prime Minister Imran Khan made an appearance on a TV interview where he revealed that the Gulf States are urging Pakistan to normalize ties with Israel. He further said that the United States along with “another country” is exerting pressure on Pakistan to recognize the state of Israel.

When the interviewer tried to inquire about this “another country”, the Prime Minister replied, “leave this, let’s move on. There are certain things that we cannot say because our relations with them [the Muslim countries pressuring Pakistan] are good. We don’t want to upset them. Inshallah, let our country stand up on its feet, then ask me such questions.”

The push for the normalization of relations between Israel and the Muslim states has been accumulating for decades now. Israel and Egypt secured a treaty in 1979 that normalized ties between the two states. In 1994, Israel secured diplomatic ties with Jordan, this was done under the supervision of President Bill Clinton. In the past months, Saudi Arabia has also made attempts to improve relations with Israel.

The reaction received by Pakistani anchors especially Mubashir Lucman upon advocating for normalized relations between Israel and Pakistan demonstrates the fact that Pakistani citizens are not ready for this development. The deep-rooted sympathy felt in Pakistan for Palestine will never allow peaceful relations with Israel.

anyways not a surprise. Pakistan should had recognized Israel during Musharaf times when Pakistani and Israel FM met in Turkey.

We should ONLY accept Israel IF Pakistan gains something SUBSTANTIAL from it. Especially economically and militarily. Otherwise, there is NO point.

Only at the back of a justified solution of the Palestinian issue, otherwise, no.

After all the arab nations recognize Israel, Pakistan will be under alot of international & domestic pressure to do it.
Let's see how our est & leadership deals with it.

Life will go on, nothing will change. Pakistan will only lose from it, and this is the issue.
The non-recognition of Israel needs a unified effort; as long as Qatar, Kuwait among other countries don't recognize Israel, we won't lose.
Once they do, then what point exists in convincing one country which is in a different continent, has no geopolitical issues with each other. There is no point left.

The only reason they're trying to push Pakistan is because they're hopeful that if a country as stubborn as Pakistan on this issue, recognizes Israel, then it will be easier to convince other Arab and Islamic countries, who do have direct geo-political relations in the region to follow.

Pakistan should sternly reject, quite honestly. That's all. Because if they're pressuring us, then that means we're entertaining their proposal, and there should be no such space.

War also includes politics, not just guns and missiles.

We already know it doesn't benefit us, while our opponent benefits from the relationship. But that's just a sacrifice Pakistan has made and continues to make for Palestinians.

The world doesn't revolve around India in Pakistan, Pajeet.

On the basis that it is Arabs who do not care about their own people and land. Why should Pakistan? If UAE got some shiny planes they keep in the sand and will likely never use why not have Pakistan get some much needed F-16s to keep Indians awake?

Moral dilemma.

The Arabs may not care but what about from a religious point of view; if you're non-religious, then what about from a humanitarian point of view.

Will they offer us 100 block 70/72 F-16's in exchange for recognising Israel?, I don't think so.
