@jamahir this clergy and royalty alliance deliberately altered with the simplest of translations of The Scripture- ------- and then Allah Swt also clearly mentioned about the categories to which charity is supposed to be given. AL Islam by default is against crude capitalism hence we find the mention of a capitalist from Moses time like qaron and his terrible end .

Now imagine if the believers start offering 20% of their net profit to the categories mentioned in Al Quran e.g relatives, orphans , needy etc would we still be needing govt support cheques ?

Not only that, failure to spare 20% of the profit received from ofcourse a legitimate business for the categories amounts to consuming usury by the believers which by default makes a believer at war with The Almighty and His messenger .

Mentee dearest friend, I took time to reply to write with coherence. :)

Well said ! Your words are the same as those of the pre-Partition Indian Islamic scholar Ghulam Ahmed Parvez :
Building upon the initial thoughts of Sindhi and Sihwarwl were perhaps South Asia’s two most ardent and articulate supporters and theoreticians of Islamic Socilaism: Ghulam Ahmed Parvez and Dr. Khalifa Abdul Hakim.

Parvez was a prominent ‘Quranist’, or an Islamic scholar who insisted that for the Muslims to make progress in the modern world, Islamic thought and laws should be entirely based on the modern interpretations of the Qu’ran and on the complete rejection of the hadith (sayings of the Prophet and his companions based on hearsay and compiled over a 100 years after the Prophet’s demise).

After studying traditional Muslim texts, as well as Sufism, Parvez claimed that almost all hadiths were fabrications by those who wanted Islam to seem like an intolerant faith and by ancient Muslim kings who used these hadiths to give divine legitimacy to their tyrannical rules.

Parvez also insisted that Muslims should spend more time studying the modern sciences instead of wasting their energies on fighting out ancient sectarian conflicts or ignoring the true egalitarian and enlightening spirit of the Qu’ran by indulging in multiple rituals handed down to them by ancient ulema, clerics and compilers of the hadith.

Understandably, Parvez was right away attacked by conservative Islamic scholars and political outfits.

But this didn’t stop famous Muslim philosopher and poet, Muhammad Iqbal, to befriend the young scholar and then introduce him to the future founder of Pakistan, Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

Jinnah appointed Parvez to edit a magazine, Talu-e-Islam. It was set-up to propagate the creation of a separate Muslim country and to also answer the attacks that Jinnah’s All India Muslim League had begun to face from conservative Islamic parties and ulema who accused the League of being a pseudo-Muslim organisation and Jinnah for being too westernised and ‘lacking correct Islamic behavior.’

Apart from continuing to author books and commentaries on the Qu’ran, Parvez wrote a series of articles in Talu-e-Islam that propagated a more socialistic view of the holy book.

In a series of essays for the magazine he used verses from the Qu’ran, incidents from the faith’s history and insights from the writings of Muhammad Iqbal to claim:

The clergy and conservative ulema have hijacked Islam.

They are agents of the rich people and promoters of uncontrolled Capitalism.

Socialism best enforces Qur’anic dictums on property, justice and distribution of wealth.

Islam’s main mission was the eradication of all injustices and cruelties from society. It was a socio-economic movement, and the Prophet was a leader seeking to put an end to the capitalist exploitation of the Quraysh merchants and the corrupt bureaucracy of Byzantium and Persia.

According to the Qur’an, Muslims have three main responsibilities: seeing, hearing and sensing through the agency of the mind. Consequently, real knowledge is based on empirically verifiable observation, or through the role of science.

Poverty is the punishment of God and deserved by those who ignore science.

In Muslim/Islamic societies, science, as well as agrarian reform should play leading roles in developing an industrialised economy.

A socialist path is a correction of the medieval distortion of Islam through Shari’a.

Parvez joined the government after the creation of Pakistan in 1947, but after Jinnah’s death in 1948, he was sidelined until he resigned from his post in 1956.

AL Islam by default is against crude capitalism hence we find the mention of a capitalist from Moses time like qaron and his terrible end .

Indeed.

Now imagine if the believers start offering 20% of their net profit to the categories mentioned in Al Quran e.g relatives, orphans , needy etc would we still be needing govt support cheques ?

1. Will this 20 percent compulsory donation be arranged from weekly profit or a larger timeline ?

2. If there is a governance system and money system exists in the society it governs, if it cannot provide money to the citizens to provide ease in their lives and it has to be the citizens who have to help out other citizens then why should that governance system exist ? :) Lula da Silva, the leftist Brazilian president was instrumental in introducing the Bolsa Familia system :
Bolsa Família (Portuguese pronunciation: [ˈbowsɐ fɐˈmiʎɐ], Family Allowance) was a social welfare program of the Government of Brazil, part of the Fome Zero network of federal assistance programs. Bolsa Família provided financial aid to poor Brazilian families. In order to be eligible, families had to ensure that children attend school and get vaccinated. If they exceeded the total of permitted school absences, they were dropped from the program and their funds were suspended. The program attempted to both reduce short-term poverty by direct cash transfers and fight long-term poverty by increasing human capital among the poor through conditional cash transfers. It also worked to give free education to children who couldn't afford to go to school, to show the importance of education.[1] In 2008, The Economist described Bolsa Família as an "anti-poverty scheme invented in Latin America [which] is winning converts worldwide." The program was a centerpiece of former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's social policy and is reputed to have played a role in his victory in the general election of 2006. Bolsa Família was the largest conditional cash transfer program in the world, though the Mexican Oportunidades was the first nationwide program of this kind.
Now this would have been one of the reasons for NATO to hate Lula and keep trying to install its boi, Jair Bolsonaro, via subversion and sabotage. In the Libyan Jamahiriya too just before the 2011 invasion there were plans of transferring I think a 1000 dollars into every citizen's account and this would have been extra to the already easy life of people - free healthcare, free education, no homelessless, free water, interest-less economics etc.

3. But we must look beyond, beyond debating over percentages of Zakat. Like I wrote in the post you quoted let us talk about abolishing money itself once and for all and have every product and service in society without the burden of money for that would be a natural state of humanity going back to the starting times when humanity was more or less Communist, egalitarian and non-exploitative. Let humanity come full circle but with technological advances. Please follow this convo of mine with LeGenD and Falcon34.

Not only that, failure to spare 20% of the profit received from ofcourse a legitimate business for the categories amounts to consuming usury by the believers which by default makes a believer at war with The Almighty and His messenger .

Absolutely well said !

What is "baday log" and "chottay log" ? You joyfully say "next level paisa, good for them" while in above posts I have been calling for abolition of that artificial construct called money yet you claim that you do not worship those three money-rich people ?

and jaha tak rahi billionaires ki baat, tu Elon ki TC kyu karte rehta ?

1. I have asked you not to use these Haryanvi thug words like TC, I don't understand them nor should they be used.

2. Elon I respect for his Mars ambition and effort. This since I got to know of him in the late 2000s on a BBC World Service Radio programme about business. This wasn't when he was the world's second most money-rich person. Elon's SpaceX will take a few humans to Mars before 2030 and this will be among human history's greatest events whereas the Ambani-Adani duo, also hugely money-rich, will never achieve anything like that. This duo is a gatherer of money for the sake of gathering money. They do not know of Alexander's last three wishes :
The story is as follows:

Alexander the Great, a conqueror of many kingdoms, fell ill, which led him to his deathbed. He gathered his generals and told them, "I will depart from this world soon; I have three wishes, please carry them out without fail."

The king asked his general to abide by these last wishes:

1) The king of Macedon said, “My physicians alone must carry my coffin.”

2) "I desire that when my coffin is transported to the grave, the path leading to the graveyard shall display the wealth I collected," the king said.

3) "My third and last wish is that both my hands hang out of my coffin," Alexander said.

The generals agreed to abide by their king's last wishes and asked him why he was doing so. Alexander said, "I want the world to know the three lessons I have just learned." The king interpreted his wishes and continued, "I want my physicians to carry my coffin because people should realize that no doctor can cure anybody. They are helpless in front of death."

The king described his second Wish: "I spent all my life earning riches but cannot take anything with me. Let people know that wealth is nothing but dust." Thirdly, I wish all to know that I came empty-handed into this world, and I will go empty-handed."

The word Ghanimtum means profit received from any legit way . It depends upon the time whenever we receive any Nafa. It could very well be taken as weakly, monthly ( if the person in question is salaried) ofcourse after covering his/her routine household expenses , quarterly or even yearly.

The phrase is ghanimtum (profit) min (from) shayin(everything) which deliberately got mistranslated as war booty coz if it means the same then what does the title of a whole chapter Al-Anfaal means? And it also doesnt make any sense if we translate it as war-loot from everything? War loot is war loot .

Allah does caution us against following poets , poetic style for obvious reasons so why He is going to come up with two different words for conveying the same meaning ?

Shobha barhanay k ley lafzo Ka baydharak istimal to shayr log krty hain.

And other than the mandatory 20% He encourages us to spend more in another verse whenever we exhaust our mental faculties to understand Al Quran without giving any percentage depending on the individual's financial status .
