What will be future Indian cabinet look like?

I was just listening to one news channel. Seems like it is a foregone conclusion that Modi will be our future PM according to that Channel!! And they were discussing who will be allotted what portfolio!! Well, I wanted to know what is your choice of candidates for important portfolios?

Rajnath Singh would be a very poor replacement & a big let down; a sort of the Deve Gowda of the BJP. Most likely will never happen. It would be Modi or the opposition benches for the BJP.

Yashwant Sinha has passed his sell by date, which was why he didn't contest the elections. He most likely won't get finance, after all Vajpayee moved him out of that post & replaced him with Jaswant Singh towards the end of the last BJP term. Jaitley will get a key post, one of the big 4 posts, though again preferably not finance. Modi may be looking to have a technocrat leading that ministry(one name is Deepak Parekh), though Arun Shourie won't be a bad choice too. Personally, I would wish for Suresh Prabhu (the only minister ever to have been sacked for his honesty) to get a prime energy portfolio. Other names would include Piyush Goyal ( commerce?), , maybe Smriti Irani etc. Leading candidate for the NSA's job is Ajit Kumar Doval, though he has almost no experience on foreign affairs.

The one thing Mr. Modi must do(if he is PM) is to reduce the cabinet size & merge many ministries, many of which have been created simply to give ministries to more people.

It will be a major loss of face for BJP if they replaces Modi with some other candidate, in fact it will be cheating with the voters who voted for BJP. If BJP cannot form the government with Modi as PM, then BJP should step aside and let any other party to form the government, that government will fall soon but BJP will emerge as a party that stands by its decision and doesn't compromise just to get into power.

It is difficult as bjp is leading a 25 member coalition and most member parties would want to have atleast one of their leader as cabinet minister. Expect the size of cabinet to increase rather decreasing to accommodate all the pre poll and post poll allies.

actually it's all speculation ...

India is heading for hung parliament ....

NDA will come to power only after lot of wrangling ...

It doesn't seem easy way for Modi ...
