What happens in case of an attack on the four Indian metros?

So I've been a lurker for a while, and a question struck me recently, so I signed up.

So I was wondering what would happen incase of a hypothetical attack on any of the four Indian metro cities, viz., Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai.

If any of these cities was attacked by a foreign military force, from where would the Indian resistance come? And what kind of hardware and troops would we be able to send?

Well if a foriegn nation attacks it, its a diffferent matter..but when foriegn elements attack her.....All we can do is unleash RAW and attack theirs bases

times change...the admin felt the new Ppl are more intelligent and mature than the oldies here ....hence 50 Post back then = 2 post now

this is foolish to ask, simply when 26/11 happened the real movement was on the indo-pak borders after the terrorists were eliminated... so this question is useless.

Simply if attack if by Pak, China then full scale war will happen, and obviously war will be fought on borders, sea and air. (and outside and not inside India). There is no scenario where the military response will be inward of India. The response will be on the borders after the initial attack and its control by Indian forces.

You don't think that suddenly 100000 pla or pa soldiers will end up in the metro from no where and IA will be attacking them from its military installations.
