Exhibiting how powerful the military is in Pakistan+ - some say more so than the elected government - Pakistan's army chief Raheel Sharif described Pakistan as "a nation that has made unparalleled contributions in the global fight against terrorism" and added that any aggression by the country's enemy (India) would be met with a befitting response, The Nation reported.

"We have recently witnessed an unfortunate display of utter desperation playing out inside Occupied Kashmir+ and a long Line of Control through a litany of falsehoods and distortion of facts by India," Pakistan's army chief said at a military event in Risalpur today.

He added that the Pakistani armed forces are fully prepared to give the "most befitting response" to any internal or external threats directed at Pakistan.

On tackling domestic terrorism, the Pakistan army chief said the army, throughOperation Zarb-e-Azb, has successfully rooted out terrorist infrastructure and also defeated the residual terrorist elements in the form of facilitators.

He said the enemies of Pakistan will make efforts to reverse the gains in the fight against terror, but "their nefarious designs will not be allowed to succeed at any cost."

Dawn newspaper today reported that in an extraordinary development, the Pakistan government, rattled by its global isolation+ following the Uri terror attack+ , told its all-powerful army in no uncertain terms to take "visible action" against Jaish-e-Mohammad and other terrorists. groups.

hahaha.. Indian Media and their delusions.

they are mixing the comments of PM Nawaz shareef and COAS Raheel Shareef.

.
He certainly did not make this statement.
Lying media and their fake news reports.

What a country which relies only on lies and fake claims.

. . .
What do you expect a chief of army who was caught with pants down would say.He has to come up with some face saving speech to pacify the morale lost army and its public.
India should not put too much importance to this statement.

. .
But according to you there were no surgical strikes so what aggression?

you Indian have very bad English you cannot understand english unless its written in Hindi accent. Read "IF"

There is no 'if'.

He indirectly accepted there was some intrusion/aggression beyond the regular border fires.

The struggle for Pakistan will be suicidal. Which is precisely why I think the enemy will try it.

. . .
Pretty rattled response from a guy for whom no surgical strikes happened. :pop:

Lol Rattled.

It is not his soldiers who were burnt alive while they were sleeping.

We all know who is rattled to the core so that they have to do surgical drama to save face in front of its nation.

What aggression !? There was no aggression ! Right ? :)

Answered above.
