Peace-loving’ Pakistan Army Chief Raheel Sharif: We will punish India for aggression

According to a report in the TV news channel CNN, the Pakistan Army Chief has said that India is attempting to sell fabricated stories. He added that India’s ‘plans will be defeated’ and the whole world will ‘condemn India’. Meanwhile, the Pakistan Army chief Gen Raheel Sharif is scheduled for retirement next month. The speculations are rife about his succesor. Reportedly there are four contenders for the post, in which there are favourites of Raheel as well as Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif.
There are also reports that following the surgical strikes by the Indian Army in Pakistan, the term for the Army chief may get extended. According to Pakistan news report by Geo Tv, Sharif said, “We have recently witnessed an unfortunate display of utter desperation playing out inside Occupied Kashmir and along Line of Control through a litany of falsehoods and distortion of facts by India. Sharif added, “We expect the international community to condemn Indian insinuations and fabrications about a nation that has made unparallel contributions in the global fight against terrorism.”

Informing that the Pakistan Army is highly vigilant and committed, Gen Raheel Sharif said that any ‘aggression or deliberate miscalculation’ by India, will not go ‘unpunished’. He also added that ‘Pakistan is a responsible and peace loving country.’

Pakistan's army chief Raheel Sharif described Pakistan as "a nation that has made unparalleled contributions i... surgical strikes on terrorist camps in Pakistan.
Exhibiting how powerful the military is in Pakistan+ - some say more so than the elected government - Pakistan's army chief Raheel Sharif described Pakistan as "a nation that has made unparalleled contributions in the global fight against terrorism" and added that any aggression by the country's enemy (India) would be met with a befitting response, The Nation reported.
"We have recently witnessed an unfortunate display of utter desperation playing out inside Occupied Kashmir+ and a long Line of Control through a litany of falsehoods and distortion of facts by India," Pakistan's army chief said at a military event in Risalpur today.
He added that the Pakistani armed forces are fully prepared to give the "most befitting response" to any internal or external threats directed at Pakistan.
On tackling domestic terrorism, the Pakistan army chief said the army, throughOperation Zarb-e-Azb, has successfully rooted out terrorist infrastructure and also defeated the residual terrorist elements in the form of facilitators.
He said the enemies of Pakistan will make efforts to reverse the gains in the fight against terror, but "their nefarious designs will not be allowed to succeed at any cost."
