Vikrant Carrier Fighter Wing ?

To my Indian colleagues

The Vikrant carrier will ready some time in 2018/2019

The pictures we have all depict a MIG29K type of navy fighter for the Vikrant

Does anybody know

1, Is it the MIG29K
2, when WILL India order the vikrant fighter wing

CURRENTLY VIKRAMDITYA WING consists of 42 mig29k with around 24 -28 carrier based at any time and the remaining shore based and rotated every 3 months

WILL VIKRANT BE THE SAME ARRANGMENT ????????????

Cannot say about the fixed wing.

But this financial year will be especially good for the naval helicopters.

I see 4 deals coming this year.
1. Ka31 AEW for Vikrant
2. 16+8 S70B deal for the escort vessels of vikrant
3. 139 NLUH deal for light helicopters.
4. 126 NMRH Deal for heavy helicopters.

As for fixed wing , for the interim Mig29K will fly , later being augmented by the 57 Naval Fighter deal.

India will soon have two new carriers ie

Vikramditya

And the new vikrant carrier and

India only have 42 Mig29

We need forty plus new fighters like now
