Modern and Western aren’t mutually exclusive. Perhaps in china there isn’t innovation in clothing but in the rest of the world there is, so what people wore in the 16th century is different than the 21st but it doesn’t change the fact they belong to that culture. Jeans and t-shirts are 100% Western.

East Asians dress very similarly today, that makes this part East Asia. We don't stiffly stick to the old stuff and refuse to change. Middle East and South Asia can be different in this regard, but that's only the differece for prefereces, nothing else, you don't have to try to make something out of it.

I can generally spot the difference between young CBCs/ABCs and PRC Chinese based on the way they dress and look overall.
