USA says Mattis not concerned about cutting Supply lines

It is good if US can find a alternative route for their supplies .

.
Pakistan has been absolutely lambasted by the US president and administration. It's been taking slaps to the face for years and yet always comes back asking for more money. Where is your pride?
We already said number of time we don't need US aid and there aid is nothing to compare what sacrifices we have given. It's only a matter of time and why would Pakistan block the route? Just because they are not giving us aid? that would be more shameful. I told here number of time that Pakistan army do things on right time no matter what situation is. Now we have upper hand that we are not taking aid and yet we allow them to afghanistan using our route that is much more favor they can get and for DO MORE thing is NO MORE thing now for Pakistan.

.
The government nor military hardly if ever mentioned it. It's called a bluff. If the afghans are actually being kicked out then they're in trouble.

.
Not even China and Russia
With due respect - I speak as a person who has grown around American 'culture' [I am by nature not anti-American] you are giving too much credit to US having leverage. Pakistan lacks the leadership. We have sellouts as leaders who have no spine. All our leaders have their one eye on pinching more money from goverment coffers and the other eye on securing their illgotten loot which is stashed in the West. As long as this continues Pakistan will not stand up to US.

Okay let's play this out. Pakistan is a country of 200 million. Millions on millions of Pakistani's are armed to the teeth. We have 100s of nukes. We have huge nuclear infrastructure. We have thousands of potential AQKhans. NATO and the greatest military machine in history - the US has thus far failed to placate bunch of sandal wearing Taliban. Indeed they are the cause of US frustration.

So you appear to be a smart guy. If Pakistan says "fcuk to USA. You think in order to sort out Afghanistan would you hedge your bets on making seven Afghanistan's [Pakistan] and on top loaded with nukes floating around? Is that the solution? Even if you did that all it would do is wreck Pakistan - making seven nuke Afganistans and still have the original Afghan problem on hand. A "Afganized" Pakistan would have millions of armed men that would swallow entire US Army - and need permanent draft to fill the ranks of the dead. IT would make Vietnam look like a nursery tussle. Is that what USA would dare do?

What we need is leader who says to Americans. Enough is enough. Go to hell. Do what you want to. The Pakistani people would line up behind him. Millions of ex-pat Pakistanis would support this. If the West did anything stupid we would have 9/11s in New York, Paris, London, Birmingham every weekend. You know how large and how radical Pakistani community is abroad.

However non of this will happen when we have rotten corrupt leaders who catch planes like servants to pay homeage to their masters in Saudia Arabia. And we all know Saudi's are sucking the American teat like new born infant.

You guy's really think in order to clear a few sandal wearing Taliban in Afghanistan USA would make Obama's nighmare real??? THe idea of sorting Afghan problem is that. Sort it out not make ten times bigger problem with nukes as icing on the cake.

Obama’s Worst Pakistan Nightmare

Hint: In difficult times you need real leadership? Where the hell is leaders of Pakistan in this difficult time?

Urdu is the Persian word for army camp. At one time occupying Muslim armies battled unruly locals, set up camps and stayed for generations. Eventually your ancestors succumbed and adopted the occupier's religion and customs. History is just repeating itself.

Bro,

Does US need leverage to hurt a country? Does US have any leverage over lets say North Korea?

They hurt a country in following ways:

1. By imposing economic sanctions
2. By use of force

Pakistan is economically weak (i.e. barely able to make its ends meet) and is in dire need of a favorable geopolitical climate to attract foreign investment in order to stimulate its growth and revive its domestic industry. Under these circumstances, an unstable Afghanistan and an increasingly hostile US is a huge problem.

Russia and North Korea are notable victims of option no. 1 at present. North Korea even more-so. Putin and Fat Kim are hardly role models for leadership by the way; both are power-hungry morons and don't give a damn about the well-being of the public of their respective countries.

Good leaders are those who prioritize safety (and well-being) of the public over other matters. You live in the US, so I do not feel the need to explain this notion to you.

Safety (and well-being) of Pakistani citizens come first - the rest (including Kashmir) is secondary. Nations who fail to understand this reality, end-up like Syria and Afghanistan.

Bro,

If 'armed citizens' could defeat professional armies in the battlefield, who would need them? Why Pakistan needs a professional army to stop Indian aggression? Why spend billions of dollars on an army then?

Let us not delude ourselves into thinking that Pakistani citizens can defeat US army in the battlefield! You have no idea.

The original Taliban made a grave miscalculation of challenging US army out in the open in 2001 and they paid a terrible price for it. The existing group is an elusive enemy enemy that avoids pitched battles with US troops and goes after softer targets such as civilians and Afghan government; their is no honor in its way of fighting by the way.

And you really think that Taliban is a threat to the US? You are taking American propaganda way too seriously. US just wants to prolong its stay in Afghanistan and is contemplating propping up a militia to counter resurgent Taliban (not joking). At the same time, it can remain close to Pakistan and disrupt its environment, if need be.

Nukes are the most overrated deterrence tools right now. There are so many countries which are doing well without nukes and some chose not to develop them in order to promote the agenda of global de-nuclearization.

We trust our nukes more than Allah Almighty today which is really sad.

Allah Almighty has pointed out in Surah al-Isra that those nations who deviate from his teachings and embrace the path of sin, will be subjected to tribulations in various forms. Among these, they will loose peace and face destructive wars.

Pakistani society - in its entirety - needs introspection. Not (toothless) pride that nobody is buying anyways. We blame our leaders for all the EVIL in our society but the reality is that this society is rotten to the core in itself.

So you appear to be a smart guy.If Psakistan says "fcuk to USA. Bro,

This is really surprising. Al-Qaeda Network thought the same and what happened? If you think that 9/11 is the solution to our problems then think again. Because of the 9/11, millions of Muslims have paid a terrible price so far. You want some more now?

Try something stupid in US and see what happens. WEST can be very accommodating due to its democratic ideals but it is also very powerful. Do not mistake their accommodation for weakness. Radicals in the WEST would stand to gain from transgressions of Muslims.

You are advocating a path that Pakistan cannot afford and if another 9/11 happens, Pakistan's fate is SEALED. Mark my words.

Pakistan needs an able leadership which can steer it out of all forms of crises with "competitive diplomacy" and I hope that we get one from the elections to be held in 2018; not a bunch of incompetent morons like we have at present.

Watch this video and learn:

I know that you do not like this guy but he brought prosperity to Pakistan and his diplomacy was miles ahead than that of PPP and PML(N).

We should be humble, God-fearing and work hard for the betterment of the nation. This does not imply that we compromise on our security-related needs in any way or form, but we have to wade through storms heading our way with levelheadedness.

Allah Almighty can subject an individual to some kind of azmaish - same is true for a society.

Pakistan establishment knows its one good card is supply line(usa can supply by air but more costlier),so they are wisely preserving it.If pakistan uses its ace card too lightly it will have no defense left against any economic sanctions which could hurt pak economy .Supply line is a shield against sanctions.

I think you missed the crux of the point I was trying to convey. I am not one of those who holds a over inflated image of Pakistani military prowess. I know USA can crush Pakistan faster then weight of elephant on a insect - to put it bluntly. However USA is I think not a country that goes around throwing it's weight and fisting anything that comes in it's way. I think USA uses the awesome military power it has - equalled by nobody at the present to further it's self interest in measured doses.

So let's look at the situation. The only reason we are having this present "words" between US/Pakistan is because of Afghanistan. 17 years after invading Afghanistan US has failed to bring peace there. That is the cause of all this drama. It so happens that US has decided that the road to peace in Afghanistan runs through Pakistan. And that the latter is stirring trouble which is why Afghanistan is still simmering.

Okay assume this is true. Clearly Pakistan needs to be told to stop "stirring" trouble inside Afghanistan. But USA has been trying to do so for a decade. Clearly Pakistan is not obliging. So the bottom line is simple. How far will USA go to force Pakistan to change it;s policy toward Afghanistan. So let's play out this hypothetical. I am rep., Pak and you can rep., USA.

I say "fcuk" to you as regards your demands with Afghanistan. Now how far do you go to change my posture? I have no doubt you can chew me like a bad apple but trust you will get diarrhoea for the next month. Would you go as far as to cause Pakistan to fall apart - which is possible given it's multiple economic, social, political challanges? Would you wreck Pakistan - which I know you can?

Would you in trying to fix one problem - Afghanistan go and "Afghanize" Pakistan? Can you imagine 200 million people country with nukes falling apart. The Afghan problem would look like a molehill compared to the new mountain of a problem you will have created.

Would you consider Trump adminstration to have been a sterling success where when they came into power 15k US soldiers were stuck in Afghanistan. But when Trump leaves Whiite House US has 250k soldiers stuck in Pakistan trying to stabilize a nuclear country that has fallen apart. You think that would look smart on the ledger account?

Trying to sort one problem out and make ten more? I believe there is something called -

Cost Benefit Analysis.

Pakistan has not cut any supply line why would he say that lol and Manttis had no contact with Pakistan in 2018 he is a liar.

Pakistan had not cut any supply lines but they know, how far Pakistan go, if they did another salala like adventure.
Next, I'm sure they also strongly believe we are nation of idiots, who provide aid without book keeping and mentioning it.

They way business is done in Pakistan is not how things are done in west, where every penny /minute spent is recorded.
Pakistan is a country where you can pay some bribe to politician or bureaucrat and do as you wish, circumventing all rules, regulations, norms and laws.

so they are wisely preserving it
Preserving it is not wise at all.
The need to assign tangible value to every container parking at port Qasim and every truck load drives in through wahga.

It's not as clean as what you think. People think everything is uppity in the West. It is not. The real differance in the West is higher economic productivity and a bigger cake to share/bribe out.

.
Pakistan can cut the supply lines. Its just a matter of time.

If USA, Mattis are not concerned then why give statements, when there is no indication of cutting Supply Lines so far...and Pakistan is not concerned about CSF /AID as well. both are concerned and worried, but this is the game we have to play.

The West is really stuck with Pakistan. It's like a wild child of the West. It';s too big, too close for them to let it fail. On the other hand it keeps hurting them and being insolent to them. I mean please tell me what sort of provocation was finding OBL chilling in Pakistan? Can you imagine of OBL was found in Syria/Iraq/Iran what would have happened? Instead a mild rebuke and dollops of dollar candy followed.
