What's new

US Drone strikes in Pakistan are illegal under international law.

I don't deny that the US is more powerful. Kayani must show that he tried to take down the drone, had radar systems in place to detect drones, he patrolled the skies with interceptors, so on.

If he did that and the US drone still managed to sneak in, kill Pakistanis and go back, then its a different thing. If he did nothing, he should be tried for treason.

That would be worse. A drone is a trivial thing to kill. Right now we are saying that we deliberately refrained from intercepting it. If the narrative becomes that Pakistan can't even willfully intercept a drone, the Indians will die from laughter.

Dont you thin that you are kidding and making us all laugh??????drone can be detected by radars for sure....the mistake lies within your government...i m interested to know wat the opposition parties are doing after each and every incident of these kinds...

If one is willing to forget the issue of sovereignty drone attacks are good for their country in the long term. Think about it. A little less number of militants is good thing, isn't it?

damned if you do...damned if you dont......dont worry indians know that if PAF wants it can easily shoot a drone...its not that incapable of not being able to shoot a drone...but the thing is PAF can shoot only one drone...not the others as probably Hornets or Eagles will be escorting them...

Of course that's the reason for the hesitation. It all comes down to tactics. You never engage an enemy at their strongest point. It would be suicide to get into a shootout with the US military. That's why 100% NATO route closure (including air routes) is an absolute necessity. Let the US 'explore' its Russian options. I am sure Putin is eager to 'discuss': Step into my office....

If drones are deemed to be effective, Pakistan should carry out the drone runs itself instead of outsourcing to the US. The Pakistani calculation is that a joint 'Pak intel + US drone' operation is a workable solution, since Pak can deflect public anger onto US drones. However, Pak generals need to recognize that that arrangement has outlived its use-by date. The public now blames Pakistan equally for the drone attacks, regardless of whose flag is on the drone itself.

So all you people Pro Pakistan army saying Now we will show USA who is the real boss... and that Taliban should not kill our army because we have stopped drones and nato supplies... uhm uhmm.. are you guys still there?

Where is Kiyani and Pasha and their supporters? Cowards (kiyani, pasha and their team a.k.ka american army.. uhm i mean pakistani army) for sale.. once again

People are jumping ahead of the gun, yesterday there was a big bomb blast and it was followed later by a drone attack what if there is a link? in the past US drones have also been used to target the enemies of Pakistan.

The are illegal so long as that 'permission in writing' is a matter of speculation.

And yes, the PPP leadership as well as the military leadership deserved to be lynched in public if they have chosen to continue to allow US operated drone strikes.

Sir, what do you mean by 'if'?
Obviosly, our brave Kiyani, Chief of Army staff, Sitara-e-Falan Falan, Hilal-e-Aiwain aiwain.. had authorized it... otherwise do you think our army is SO crappy that they can't follow his orders of shooting down a drone (Dec 2011)? Its either of the two.. and you know as well as everyone which one it is..

There is difference between being Pro-Army and Pro-GHQ :blah:

Bullsh!! Drones can be easily shot down. An less maintained, Poor old configuration MiG25 have brought down American drone, F16 Block52 is quite capable to killing a drone... infact the upgraded MiG21 (pakistan use Chinese version of MiG21, i forget the name, its J7 or J8) can kill these subsonic drones.

All you need is WILL... (not will smith :P )

I knew that. Leave F-16, J-7 and foxbat. Even retired J-6( chinese mig-19) or trainer J-5( chinese mig-17 ) can shoot down predator( which can't exceed 117 knots ) by its cannon. I was just replying to that troller
