US Demands Indian Army To Battle The Taliban in Afghanistan

India has so far stayed away from sending its troops to Afghanistan, but has been actively engaged in the reconstruction effort and emerging as one of the biggest donors to the war-torn country. However, US President Donald Trump is not satisfied with the Indian reconstruction role in Afghanistan and has asked India to send its troops to Afghanistan.

CAN INDIAN SOLDIERS REPLACE THE US TROOPS IN AFGHANISTAN TO QUELL THE TALIBAN?

In his first Cabinet meeting of the year, the US President also referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for funding a library in Afghanistan, wondering who would use it in that country. Trump also suggested Pakistan and Russia send its troops to Afghanistan.

“Why is not Russia there (in Afghanistan, fighting the Taliban)? Why isn’t India there? Why isn’t Pakistan there? Why are we (US) there? We are 6,000 miles away. But I don’t mind. We want to help our people. We want to help other nations,” Trump told reporters in response to a question during the Cabinet meeting.

The US President cited India’s efforts towards peace and development in Afghanistan but alleged that the countries were not doing enough in the war-ravaged country and that they were taking advantage of the United States.

Asserting that the Afghan war costs billions of dollars to the US, Trump said, “I want people to treat us fairly”. He noted that heads of countries have told him that they are involved in the peace process by “just sending some 100 or 200 soldiers”.

The US President referred to his friendly terms with Prime Minister Modi but appeared critical of a library funded by India in Afghanistan.

“I could give you an example where I get along very well with India and Prime Minister Modi. But he is constantly telling me, he built a library in Afghanistan. Library! That’s like five hours of what we spend (in Afghanistan),” Trump told his cabinet colleagues.

“And he (Modi) tells me. He is very smart. We are supposed to say, oh thank you for the library. Don’t know who’s using it (the library) in Afghanistan. But it’s one of those things. I don’t like being taken advantage of,” he said.

Trump drew a comparison between the expenses being borne by the US and other countries in the Afghan peace efforts.

“What other countries have done for the last long period of time is given us some soldiers and then talk about it like it’s the end of the world. And we are subsidizing their military is by billions and billions and billions of dollars, many, many, many times, what those soldiers cost that country,” the US President said.

Responding to a question, he said he wants India to be involved in Afghanistan. Asked if India’s role in Afghanistan was going to be security related, Trump said: “We are going to be doing something that is right. We are talking to the Taliban. We are talking to a lot of different people.”

“But here’s the thing, because you mentioned India. India is there. Russia is there. Russia used to be USSR. Afghanistan made it Russia because they went bankrupt fighting in Afghanistan. Russia. So you tend to look at other countries. Pakistan is there. They should be fighting. But Russia should be fighting,” he said.

“The reason Russia was in Afghanistan was that terrorists were going into Russia. They were right to be there. The problem is it was a tough fight and literally they (Russia) went bankrupt,” Trump said.

Is that the reason Pakistan even after being biggest non NATO allie of USA in WOT not sending your troops in Pakistan, huh ?? :sarcastic::omghaha::omghaha::omghaha:

Trump had even questioned that along with India and Russia not sending troops. LOL :lol::lol:

Biggest mistake india will make its a trap waiting to be uncovered, go ahead if you are looking for a lot of bloodshed for your soldiers.

Do you think we are really stupid unlike some of our neighbours to get entangled in a conflict which doesn't mean anything to us, huh ?? :nono::nono::nono:

Once Blackwater takes over, it is bye bye to Pakistan's "non-state actors". While they aren't invincible, BW will have no legal constraint to hit Pakistani sponsored agencies hard or even Pakistani strategic interests. If they face any attack, BW will take off their gloves and dish out the pain to Pakistanis.

It would be interesting to watch a PMC whack their government forces. :D

During the British Raj, the Indian soldiers indeed accompanied the British officers in their couple of campaigns into Afganistan. Unfortunately, nobody could come back....
all of them died their butva british doctor.

nobody wants to die.nobody will send soldiers to afghanistan.i have seen many indian politicians and they don't want to send anyone.afghanistan is a hell.only truce is the solution.

Indian soldiers can operate under Blackwater. If I remember correctly a normal soldier retires after 17 years of compulsory service. So he is around 35 to 36 years old. I just googled and 40000 defense personnel retire every year. It will be good earnings for a cpl of years and they can kill a few talibans as a bonus.

A country who lost over 60K plus citizens and army and got completely devastated and debt ridden mostly because U.S.A took them for a ride over the last few decades. Once in the name of countering communism and again in the name of WOT. And yet they have they audicity to ridicule others on some petty comments (which ain't even a diplomatic success atleast).

Keep enjoying these petty statements as long as it satisfies your miniscule ego. LOL :sarcastic::omghaha::omghaha::omghaha:

and where is india now?keep dragging library to get some share :D

On a more serious note I don't think this can happen due a logistical and supply issue - How will India transport its troops to A-stan and how will it sustain a supply line?? Obviously Pakistan will never allow this via its soil. So the only other option is via Iran. Again this will be an extremely unlikely and extremely expensive logistical option since Pakistan won't allow any Indian ships through its EEZ zone which means indian ships have to travel more distance before reaching Iran. Then from Iran reaching the Western borders of A-stan, and then make their journey all the way to Kabul. Improbable if not impossible. And not to mention Iran will turn into an enemy of Taliban if it allows this to happen.
India already has access to military bases (Ayni and Farkhor) in Tajikistan, there is supposed to be a Mig-29 squadron stationed there, that could be the first base of Logistics, support and transit for Indian Forces deploying in Afghanistan. Indian Air Force has Boeing C-17's which can lift MBT's, APC's and other heavy cargo easily and deploy them in Afghanistan. The aerial route could be same as the one taken to deploy personnel and supplies in these bases in the first instance. There was another chatter that Indian Army was planning to deploy up to 2 Division sized troops in Afghanistan, but the pretext was debatable since some voiced this deployment under a UN mandate only. Another candidate planning to build a base in Afghanistan is China, some 500 troops.

Aaaah, pakistanis dreaming of US departure from Afghanistan and for India to involve itself in a war we have no business in, like pakistan did and is now suffering.
