General Kenneth F. McKenzie Jr. took over as head of the US CENTCOM last month after Gen. Joseph Votel's retirement.

According to a press statement from the military's media wing, the two top commanders discussed the geo-strategic environment and regional security.

The discussion included Afghanistan and the recent standoff between the Pakistani and Indian militaries.

The meeting comes as Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said the country had "reliable intelligence" that India was preparing for yet another act of aggression against Pakistan.

Interesting... They are meeting in the wake of recent development with respect to threat of Indian aggression. Maybe chief is sending a message....

. .
The real messaging will be when Pakistan test-fires a shaheen-III missile which flies over India and lands at Andaman Sea a few nautical miles away from Port Blair. This WILL make India back off.
Yes, a submarine launched missile would do the trick too.

Interesting times. Is India part of Centcom? I think there part of the Pacific command. This has to do with Afghanistan. ANA took a beating last few weeks. He may be consulting on the USA pullout. It may ramp up soon they have recently pulled diplomatic staff.

.
What was the important part of the said meeting?

. .
@CENTCOM any details would be appreciated.

I have a feeling that it might involve supply routes, and about a potential US withdrawal.
Yup, I guess that would be at the top of his agenda but I think regional issues of security would have also been discussed.

. .
When did that happen? I must've missed it.

Their are news reports and official releases. USA wants to reduce diplomatic staff in Afghanistan. Google it. Not a good sign for Kabul...the Americans want to reduce there exposure to the aftermath.
