2012-02-03 Press Trust of India has quoted Pentagon spokesperson Commander Leslie Hullryde confirming that, contrary to press reports, the United States has not made available Lockheed Martin's advanced, fifth generation fighter jet F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighters to India.

However, it was noted that should India express an interest, the United States would submit technical information and initiate a discussion.

"Should India indicate interest in purchasing the JSF, the United States would be prepared to provide information on the JSF and its requirements (infrastructure, security, etc) to support India's future planning"

The Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II is a family of single-seat, single-engine, fifth generation multirole fighters under development to perform ground attack, reconnaissance, and air defense missions with stealth capability. The F-35 has three main models; one is a conventional takeoff and landing variant, the second is a short take off and vertical-landing variant, and the third is a carrier-based variant.

The F-35 is descended from the X-35, the product of the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) program. JSF development is being principally funded by the United States, with the United Kingdom and other partner governments providing additional funding. The partner nations are either NATO members or close U.S. allies. It is being designed and built by an aerospace industry team led by Lockheed Martin. Hahahahaaha.
So they are saying, that we haven't offered it yet, but are willing to do so as soon as Indians show interest in it.

This has been discussed umpteen times on PDF. Why do you want to beat the dead horse.

Now, what you have posted is a new item published on 15 December 2006. Now look at the latest new item published on 11 November 2011

Atleast Carefully Read Your Own Article
Clearly Shows You Are Here For Trolling Purpose....

Get A Life Loser

what I m little slow :cheesy: what Uncle Sam is saying If WEare intrested they will provide us info and infa about JSF THE F-35???:D:laugh:

I m fed up with tongue games. Its clear India is not think about worlds. There is no value of words and tone nowadays. Either politics or general people.

Why drag up an old thread on a non-topic? We ALL know if India asked for JSF US would be more than willing to oblige.

This has been discussed several times. IAF is not going to buy F35, btw it is not even operational. Indian Navy may look for it for IAC2, but that is long way away.

I am sure that US as well as Russia doesn't want to see MCA and they both will try to sell their own 5th Generation aircraft to IAF and INAF. Although F-35 is not being offered to IAF right now but they are going to offer it to IAF and INAF and may be if India went for establishing Marines division then they are also going to offer them the Marine version to but this will happen only and after 2022.

Often discussed before:

- F35 was not offered for MMRCA, because no licence production or ToT would be provided and the US wanted to sell F16 and F18SH
- F35 was offered for IN, as LM replied to their RFI for carrier fighters

Indian navy might go for F-35 in the future. Harrier squadrons need to be replaced.
