UN Security Council to Vote Monday Morning on Iran Deal - ABC News

The U.N. Security Council scheduled a vote for first thing Monday morning on a resolution endorsing the Iran nuclear deal.

The resolution was circulated to council members Wednesday by the United States. Members were also briefed by both Iran and the other countries that negotiated the landmark agreement to curb Iran's nuclear program.

With all five veto-wielding permanent members of the Security Council involved in the marathon Iran negotiations, the resolution's adoption Monday was almost certain.

The resolution implements an intricate deal that places restrictions on Iran's nuclear program while allowing relief from sanctions that the country's leaders say have hurt its economy.

Monday's vote came despite calls from some U.S. lawmakers to delay Security Council approval until Congress reviews the deal.

The chairman of the Senate's foreign relations committee, Bob Corker, on Thursday wrote a letter to President Barack Obama saying, "We urge you to postpone the vote at the United Nationsuntil after Congress considers this agreement."

But the chief U.S. negotiator in the Iran talks, Wendy Sherman, rejected that idea Thursday.

She told reporters: "It would have been a little difficult when all of the (countries negotiating with Iran) wanted to go to the United Nations to get an endorsement of this, since it is a product of the United Nations process, for us to say, 'Well, excuse me, the world, you should wait for the United States Congress.'"

Sherman said the council resolution allows the "time and space" for a congressional review before the measure actually takes effect.

Yes, but i guess they will abstain, or even vote in favor.

If the leaked draft is true, then with no doubt Iranian parliament with will reject the deal.
Iran wont accept any limitations on its conventional Ballistic missiles.

Dadash, have you not been paying attention? This ban of missile testing is something which has been there for years, it is not new. Has it effected Iranian missile development so far? It will make no difference. And in any case, once Iran deals with the PMD issues and the IAEA submits a report confirming the broader conclusion, Iran is free to do whatever it wants. This should not take that long if the so called PMD issues are dealt with quickly. And according to the draft, once Iran has been given the broader conclusion, there will be no limit on missile testing etc. Not that it matters anyway as Iranian missile program will continue like it has for the last few years. But the good thing here is this, once the broader conclusion is reached, then Iran can without limits test anything it wants, even an ICBM (which it wont for political reasons).

yes, during these whole years we ignored those resolutions and in return received the sanctions, but what was the point of current deal? didn't you wanted to end the sanctions? if we violate any part of the deal or U.N resolution, sanctions will revert back. also we will be condemned cause it was Iran who violated the deal.

This is from your rajanews :
It says until IAEA report ( which will be released before 2016 )

since you haven't studied the JCPOA (Annex V - Implementation Plan page 152), you don't know its terminology, so you don't know what you are talking about.

A. Finalisation Day ->> B. Adoption Day (The date you mentioned) ->> C. Implementation Day (IAEA verification report)->> D. Transition Day (8 years after adoption day or Broader Conclusion report from IAEA chief stating that all nuclear material in Iran remains in peaceful activities, and It's more than clear that there wont be such a favor for us from IAEA) ->>E. UNSCR Termination Day.

Why you guys can't be flexible. At mmost for fuve years cant invest in new nuclear capable balistic missiles . Who care about the delivery system you improve your conventional warhead . Improve its percision and its lethality and its not a nuclear capable warhead so they cant complain.
No you want to have better delivery system but fir the deal you cant work on them, well why angry your adversary at UN instead work on better and stronger satellite delivery system and laugh at the guys in UN .after 5 to 8 year use what you learned there and build what you like (but honnestly longer range Balistic mossile for non nuclear warhead is a waste better invest on improving Soomar and increase its range and survivability.)

Well you are impatient and want to work on millitary equipment directly work on artillery rockets like PersianGulf and Fateh 110 . Make them something that just its name fill your enemy heart with fear.

The key is to be flexible walk on the twilight zone but be careful not to deviate to left or right.

this much I read and notice the level of ignorance. the subject of resolution is test and launching of any ballistic missile, not just nuclear capable sh!t. and we will never accept that cause we are neither Mosaddeq nor Gaddafi both trusted U.S.
