County cricket is not the same as it was during the 90's or earlier
You just have to look at the state of the English cricket team and their constant need to import foreign players.
I get the point you are trying to make and that can be done by encouraging school/college cricket.
South Africa produces the best players in the world despite cricket being limited to the white population their and the reason is that school cricket is very strong in South Africa.
That way we can have players who can carry themselves on the international stage plus having the best talent available for the sport!

County cricket is not magic in itself---but it the process of getting out of your comfort zone---living in a new place---adjusting to change---getting new exposures and understanding them----and then there is this continuous battle to do better in front of the others.

It is a Pakistani thing---many of us have to travel abroad to find ourselves and unleash our capabilities---it is like burning our bridges---. Now failure is not an option---we need to raise our game to the next level to survive and flourish.

They don't have to do county cricket---they can go to so Africa, Australia wherever to see the change
