In the 25 years of conflict in the Kashmir Valley, more than 100 Pakistani nationals have been captured alive following attacks on security forces.

Police sources say more than 15 militants have been arrested in the state in the past five years. While Naveed is the second militant arrested in 2015, two militants were arrested in 2013.

More than 25 Pakistani militants are either undertrials or serving jail sentences while 54 foreign militants are still active in the Valley. Pakistani footprints in militancy in the Kashmir Valley have been established on several occasions in the past five years.

Jammu and Kashmir police arrested a Pakistani national — allegedly a militant of the banned Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) — Zubair Ahmed Mughal alias Amir Maviyah hailing from Karachi in January this year.

In March 2013, a Pakistani militant suspected to be an accomplice of the two militants who attacked CRPF personnel in Bemina locality of Srinagar was arrested. Police and special operations group (SOG) identified him as Riyaz Ahmad alias Abu Talha.

In May 2013, another militant — Naveed Balouch alias Fahdullah — was arrested from the Sopore area. Balouch belongs to Jahanabad in Multan, Pakistan.

Like Naveed, the Pakistani officials had initially disowned Balouch too. “They (Pakistani authorities) always disown militants publicly and later acknowledge them,” said a senior police official. Police sources say around 800 Pakistani militants have been killed in encounters in the state.

Mohammad Naveed, the Pakistani terrorist captured after a deadly attack in Jammu and Kashmir, lives in the Rafique Colony area of Faisalabad city, his neighbours have confirmed.

Naveed’s father Mohammad Yakub lives with two of his sons in a house at the end of Street Number 3 in Rafique Colony, the neighbours were quoted as saying by NDTV.

Yakub’s third son is Naveed, the unnamed neighbours were quoted as saying.




Naveed was caught on Wednesday after he and an accomplice attacked a Border Security Force (BSF) convoy at Udhampur and killed two troopers. His accomplice, from Bahawalpur in Pakistani Punjab, was gunned down by security forces.

His home – the terrorist told his interrogators – is deep inside Ghulam Mohammadabad, the largest residential area in the old quarters of Faislabad.

Naveed’s family is nowhere to be seen and the street where his father lives is very silent and the people watchful, NDTV reported.

“Why are you here? What are you doing with that?” a resident asked on seeing the camera carried by the channel’s reporter.

But Yakub told Hindustan Times that he is the "unfortunate father" of the terrorist captured in India.

"I'll be killed, Lashkar and the Pakistani army are after us," Yakub said.

Naveed, 22, has told investigators that he trained at a Lashkar-e-Taiba camp in Pakistan before he entered India some 45 days ago.

He said he has two brothers and a sister. One of the brothers, he said, is a lecturer while the other runs a hosiery business. Neighbours in Faislabad confirmed this.

After attacking the BSF convoy, Naveed escaped into a village and took three men hostage but they later overpowered him and handed him over to police.

Reacting to India’s accusations about Naveed’s Pakistani nationality, Pakistan Foreign Office spokesman Qazi Khalilullah said: "We have said many a times that making immediate accusations on Pakistan is not correct. These things should be based on facts. We expect that whenever Pakistan is being accused of something, it will be accompanied with correct evidence."

Obviously laugh.........because we don't have time to give fcuks about incidents like these....through which India wants to highlight it's name in the world....but no one seems to care.

Add to that, these chaps are known to get a bit high before they do these kind of attacks. Little wonder he seemed to be in his own world. Not anymore though, the interrogators are not as much fun without that high in the system.

The one good thing to come from this is that guy stayed over 45 days inside of Kashmir. There are a lot of people in the support network who are about to be put out of commission. Couldn't ask for more.

On the flip side, this could have been one very ugly incident & we might have been looking at serious escalation. The BSF guys on the bus were mostly unarmed and had the terrorists gotten into the bus, we might have been looking at a very big mess.

This attitude of keeping your eyes shut will not take you anywhere and thats why you fails to see why there is an instability in your country. You even can't see another country in Pakistan which is Pakistani army which is in itself a country with its own economy, law, court, law enforcer(Rangers) which is running in parallel with your govt. Do you really think that you denial of these fact will save you from the shame and the thinking of the whole world.
