Joe Sirjee I think you meant to quote the asad71 guy
No, I didn't, although I was referring to his post quoted by you.
India cannot just bypass Bangladesh. Throw away all those trash tea sipping meeting reports to the gutter. We have seen already how you have developed that hilly siliguri corridor for the last 65 years when India is pulling off its hairs and begging BD to give a transit via its Ctg port and Akhaura. Why would India beg us if your links are such important?
Grow up boy and do not let all those Dehliwala politicians deceive you for another 65 years. BD will remain the focal point of trades among ASEAN, China and India. Instead of a 2500 km of detour through rebel infested NE, India should go for ocean transportation.
I don't understand.
The Siliguri corridor is hilly? Since when? And what further development is needed, that hasn't taken place? More six lane highways? Can be done, but why, precisely? Only a reduction in distance would justify these additional investments, and that is what the transit routes through BD seeks to achieve. More rail links? Perhaps there is a case, with rapidly increasing volumes of passengers and goods moving in and out of the north-east. More air links? Oh, yes, please. These flights are already crowded. More water-borne links? We have none of these, and only in this one transport segment could we do with some Bangladeshi help.
