They are all of every country in neighborhood.

Baracuda was designed esp for Maldives but its from cora class corvette class which is equally powerful.

The first Kora class was commissioned in 1998, and the last of class was commissioned in 2004. Its a decade old design, and the IN only bought 4 of them...And you stated the barracuda, not the Kora.

Even if the kora was a modern design corvette with the latest tech, we still wouldn't buy them...a) Bangladesh don't buy weapon systems made in india b) We want to build our own corvettes, and the chinese are helping us develop our ship building industry.

Off course we prefer Chinese weapon systems to indian.

1) China has a far larger and more well developed defense industry with advanced weapon systems in almost every category.
2) China has good system of support and after sales service.
3) China provides financing for their sales.
4) There's no political strings attached to buying Chinese weapons.
5) China is highly price competitive.
6) China is one of our biggest trading partners, investors and supporters.
7) india can NEVER compete on price performance with Chinese systems.

Oh and we treat you like the enemy, because you act like one. Finally you didn't shed blood for us because you liked us, but because you took the opportunity to weaken your enemy pakistan. In-fact you supplied just enough to keep the fighting going as long as you could, but never enough that it would tilt the balance decisively towards the freedom fighters. Most of the fighting was done by our people and we paid most of the price.

These corvette are obsolete. Just becos, it pack with lots of missile doesn't mean it will be advance. Type056 with its RCS reduction shaping will appear much smaller under radar, meaning it can hide properly under the busy shipping lane. It FL-3000N can multi- engage incoming salvo of anti-ship missile. The Cora corvette can't engage submarine properly while Type056 with 2 triple anti-sub torpedo and sonar is able to carry out proper ASW.

i think the unit number is 2+2 total 4 not 8 but i want more..........4 unit.

Indian made boats are loaded with weapon system as per customer requirements. There is no standard version for it. Even our patrol vessels can be armed as much as light frigates but then it will depend on IN requirements only. Not saying that Chinese boats are inferior or weaker but everyone wnats their boats being exported. India would also like to sell capable boats if invited for tendors.

LOL.... GRSE charged $58m for the Barracuda a simple OPV. How much would a modern fully featured stealth corvette, developed from the Kora class cost?

1. India can't compette against China on price performance yet.
2. The Type 056 will also be built in Bangladesh with Chinese support.
3. Bangladesh does not buy indian defence systems, even the present AL gov can't change that.

I would like to contradict the claims made for boat export to Bangladesh navy. First point Indian defense industry is also matured enough to manufacture required items including all types of boats. Second point being India is also improving is after sales support significantly after selling/transferring the boats to customers. 3rd India also offers good funding while supporting Indian made vessels. Forth in today's times no country can afford to add political strings in military sales except superpower which neither China nor India is. Fifth point is affected by 3rd point. Sixth we also are one of biggest countries who support Bangladesh in strengthening their foundation. Seventh China is not unbeatable. India as also its share of merits when it comes to competition. Last but not least no country is saint nor any country is evil, its the policy of country and karma of people which guide towards its target. And yes disliked those who committed henious crimes and still dislike same kind of people but we do like moderate people, their culture and the beautiful landscapes. Thank you.
