1-Russian in no war with you at all
2-Israel isn't alone hence even if the Russians want to down your planes does that mean Russia face Israel alone or it will face the US with all the west and some of the none western countries.
3-Russian presence in Syria is to help Syrian army to stand and defeat the terrorism not to engage in a war against the west.
4-The Russians air defense systems in Syria purpose is to cover and protect them from any air attack from any side which defensive in general (the Turkish downing one of their planes was a clear example).

This is my air defense system position prediction. Small red circles are range for anti-ballistic missile (120km) as it claimed in wikipedia. But wiki says that S-400 is only effective against short-medium range ballistic missiles. Green big circles are range of 48N6 missiles(250km), we will possibly buy very limited number of 40N6 (400km) so most of anti-aircraft range would be 250km.

Ankara-İstanbul-İzmir ones are pretty obvious. I assume that fourth one will be stationed next to Akkuyu nuclear power plant, since SSM shared one air defense video long time ago, in that video there was an air defense system next to Akkuyu, it also covers Cyprus.
