According to the Turkish army,2 Turkish soldiers and 73 YPG fighters were killed today in Afrin.

He wants his lands back. In North Syria there is all the productive green lands, water supply and energy supply. Why would Assad leave this area to Kurds? Assad words about regaining all of Syria is in our interest. If Turkey makes strategic alliance with Assad, Syrian war will be solved within a year.

Idealy a friendy Assad would be good for Turkey....but don't trust him yet. He would be able to give autonomy to YPG/PKK because he simply don't have the mean to fight them without Russia, and Russia would rather have peace between Assad and YPG rather than war.
And of course we have the "Erdogan" problem in Turkey : Erdogan is still obseded about Assad or no ? Frankly I hope Erdogan use the FSA like canon fodder and make a deal with Assad later one....but this Erdogan...he is rather hard to predict.

Everybody has bloody hands in Syria and since Syria can’t be wiped off the map we will need to set aside the last. Also Erdoğan is also not innocent. He armed Islamist and send them into Syria to kill Syrian policemen/soldiers. Assad had no choice than to massacre Islamists. If he hadn’t then Syria would be like Libya today, a scenario even worse for Turkey.

I agree with the last part. Ideal situation would be if Erdoğan leaves office. A deal with Assad to clean Syria would happen over night.

Assad had no choice than to massacre Islamists.

Assad has done more than massacre islamist and he had more choice. He could have choice to leave his office and organize real election....he choice to stay in power by killing thousand, bombing and destroying his own cities without thinking about civilian casualty.

Yes we must make a deal with him (he still our neihgbours), but he is a bloody dictator.
