Aselsan’s Jammers and Decoys can be Fired from “Class 209” Submarines’ Signal Ejector
Bengür gave information on the potential export points of these products and systems and said, “We accomplished the very first in respect with these jammers and decoys. Usually these jammers and decoys are fired from 10-12” launches in submarines. As Aselsan, we broke a new ground in this respect. The jammers and decoys can be fired both from the launches and from the Signal Ejector in which they are placed in. We are the only company to manufacture jammers and decoys that can be fired from such Signal Ejector in the world for the time being”.
Bengür stated that there are 82 Ay class “Class 209” submarines in the world and added that this system is compatible with these submarines and jammers and decoys can be fired from the Signal Ejector of the submarines of the aforementioned class. Bengür underlined that studies for the modernization of “Class 209” are continuing in many regions and added that there are no finalized contracts for the time being and that they are expecting positive developments in the future.
Aselsan accomplished the delivery of acoustic decoys and jammers developed for the Preveze and Gür Class Submarines to the Turkish Naval Forces Command at 2013 last quarter. Within deliveries accomplished under the scope of “Acoustic Decoy System for Submarines (DAKA) Project”, Turkish navy obtained modern “Soft-Kill” Torpedo Counter Measure systems. Before the deliveries of the systems utilized in Preveze and Gür Class Submarines, Zoka and Zargana torpedo counter measure systems were developed by Aselsan for Ay Class Submarines and were delivered.
