The reason for last month crashing of Anka-A (The first strategic UAV of Turkey) was determined: The mission computer of Anka-A ordered Anka-A to "destroy itself" since it lost the connection with ground station for 20 seconds. ANKA-A had fallen its nose downward. The aim here was specified that the used technology will not be captured by the enemy.

Before 24.09.2012: Test flights continued.
24.09.2012: Procurement acception tests started.

Defence Officials of Turkey: "If Anka-A had not fallen, the continuation of Procurement acception tests would be done in Batman thereby Anka-A would not only be tested but also be used actively in the struggle with PKK terror. This accident made the process a little delayed, but there is no big problem. Other Anka-A s are continueing to fly."
