Turkish LHD Program | News & Discusions

.. but more egypt's efforts on dominating the region in military way.

For saudis ,the best thing is going for LPDs designed for their needs.

The events in Libya, Syria and Yemen, we have demonstrated more than ever the need that we needed not just air projection capabilities (Type C-130, C17) but also naval type Mistral to deploy in any place.

Saudi Arabia (GCC) and Egypt have agreed to create a joint naval force intervention to defend all their territories and interests.

The equipment to be perfectly coherent should have a naval escort of support and protection, Frigates - FREMM - and submarines. The purchase of these ships go in line with the contract 'Sawari III' being negotiated with France.

And a last point it is us (KSA and UAE - GCC -) who will pay indirectly - for both - (Like Rafale and FREMM), not Egypt.

you are a liar , you know very well that egypt is an enemy of turkey , egyptian are afraid from strong turkey , and they will do anything they can to hurt turkey
Egypt Navy is a one day strike for Turkish Airforce and Navy, even in their Harbours if necessary

:cuckoo:

You all need a psychiatrist.

Rules

SH-60 would perform way better than Hurkus or Anka in terms of ASW for carrier-borne operations.. even better than anything on market.

Those Russian aircraft are specifically designed for carriers..on a note we are getting F-35B, why bother ourselves with Russian junks.

Those Mistrals are gonna be useless technically impossible for us to adopt.

I as a forum member appreciate all ideas but sometimes reading over imagination makes me laugh..

@Neptune Rules :lol:

Now you are concentrated on ASW on a carrier , Hawkeye is more a AEW plane, you should mention S-3 Viking

Naah..I focused on aircraft capable for ASW. But yes thanks for fixing I stand corrected. AFAIK Vikings were retired a while ago.

I was surprised, as I read some minutes ago that they were reanimated in 2010

In June 2010 the first of three aircraft to patrol the Pacific Missile Test Center's range areas off of California was reactivated and delivered. The jet aircraft's higher speed, 10 hour endurance, modern radar, and a LANTIRN targeting pod allow it to quickly confirm the test range being clear of wayward ships and aircraft before tests commence.[10] These S-3Bs are flown by Air Test and Evaluation Squadron Thirty(VX-30) based out of NAS Point Mugu, CA.[11]
Also, the NASA Glenn Research Center acquired four S-3Bs in 2005. Since 2009, one of these aircraft (USN BuNo 160607) has also carried the civil registration N601NA and is used for various tests.
Potential future[edit]
Republic of Korea Navy
South Korea has expressed an interest in acquiring up to 18 secondhand, ex-USN S-3s in order to augment their current fleet of 16 Lockheed P-3 Orion aircraft.[12] If the purchase goes through then South Korea would become the first foreign operator of the type.
Carrier onboard delivery C-3 variant
In April 2014, Lockheed Martin announced that they would offer refurbished and remanufactured S-3s as a replacement for the Northrop Grumman C-2A Greyhound. The requirement for 35 aircraft would be met from the 91 S-3s currently in storage.[13] In February 2015, the Navy announced that the Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey had been selected to replace the C-2 for the COD mission.[14]

Sub systems will be modified French for us.

Needs money...too much money that'd would cost much more than its ticket price. But you have that amount of money and its raining from underground...that instead you could have launched and funded your own project with Western assistance.

@Bubblegum Crisis also remember the Iraq War.. Iraq's radars at that time were French made..And with French hand to US; Uncle Sam enforced a black out on all these radars via satellites. Don't even need to mention the Falklands War.
