MILRES Project to develop 2,5 MW industrial capacity wind turbines • 500 kW scale prototype turbine will be developed first.
These turbines will be used as test beds to mature system design for applications in a 2.5 MW industrial capacity wind turbine.
Provide experience and ability for further development of 5MW-8MW offshore wind turbines in Turkey


Developed Turkey’s first; • 500kW double fed indicator generator
500kW wind turbine gearbox
forged shaft for 900mm diameter
forged ring flanges upto 3.5m diameter
Novel gear box design that allows stage by stage ( 3 stages) servicing
unique turbine blades
Unique aerodynamic and structural design,
Unique mold design
90% domestic materials (including fiber)

Some Novel Aspects of MILRES Turbine
Hybrid/Midspeed turbine design;
Gearbox output ratio is lower than standart wind turbines
Generator is smaller and cheaper than direct drive wind turbines
Full load wind speed is lower than competitors, which means more energy in lower wind speeds
On board (nacelle mounted) crane system for maintenance. This crane system has ability to service all nacelle systems. Some Special Aspects of MİLRES Turbine

TRIJEN R&D Project

Objective: Convert low grade coal and biomass into diesel fuel

Technology developed;

  • Coal and biomass gasification technologies,
  • Gas cleaning technologies,
  • Gas conditioning technologies,
  • CO 2 separation technologies,
  • The conversion of synthesis gas into liquid fuel systems,
  • Use of the power production system of the synthesis gas

Pilot plant is under construction in Soma
Fischer-Tropsch method will be used and will have 25 lt / hr capacity.

how many countries in the world can produce chips? any idea? Recently, USA banned the export of chips to CHine, does that mean that they cant produce it?

Probably a couple dozen countries produce low processing power chips. However high power chips like the ones used in Computer CPUs, graphic cards; digital cameras; mobile phones and other compute dense applications are the domain of several countries. Mainly; USA, Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan have foundries that actually produce the physical products. But there are other countries like Russia that can design the chips but doesn't have the latest chipmaking technologies to produce them. Also the chipmaking countries or rather companies have some of their facilities outside their country of origin. Like Intel has a foundry in Israel.

Lie detector machine designed especially for Turks being developed - SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY

A polygraph machine adapted for Turkish culture is currently under development at Istanbul’s Üskudar University.

“That which can be considered a ‘lie’ by regular polygraphs used in the West may not be considered a lie by Turkish people. Cultural differences must be taken into account in the detection of what is a lie and what is not,” Professor Nevzat Tarhan, in charge of the project, told the Hürriyet Daily News.
