On an official visit, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Pakistan. Turkish president greeted at Nur Khan Airbase by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari.

Turkish President will meet with Prime Minister and President of Pakistan during the visit. He will travel to Islamabad to attend the Pakistan-Turkey Business Forum and the High Level Strategic Cooperation Council. The Turkish president will also be present during the signing of the Memorandums of Understanding and other agreements between Pakistan and Turkey in a number of different domains.

Pakistan Air Force (PAF) jets escorted Erdogan’s special aircraft as it entered Pakistani airspace. Upon arrival at Nur Khan Airbase in Islamabad President Erdogan was warmly welcomed by Pakistani officials including President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. A 21-gun salute was also fired in honor. Welcome ceremony included a performance by the military band and children waved the flags of both Pakistan and Turkey.

HLSCC serves as highest decision-making forum providing strategic direction for strengthening bilateral relations, covering sectors like trade, investment, defense, energy, agriculture, IT, health and education. Pakistan deployed additional security forces in Islamabad to ensure the safety of President Erdogan and his delegation, especially given a recent travel advisory issued by the U.S. Embassy about a potential threat from the Pakistani Taliban

HE Recep Tayyip Erdoğan President of Turkey, arrived in Islamabad with a special flypast by a formation of Pakistan Air Force JF-17 thunder aircraft from 26 squadron (the black spiders).
Upon his arrival the President was greeted by Federal ministers and authorities, including PM Shehbaz Sharif and General Syed Asim Munir COAS.

 
During official visit to Pakistan on 13 February 2025 Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad to discuss a range of bilateral and international issues. Erdoğan raised the issue of Kashmir and UN resolutions during a press talk Sitting with Pak PM Shehbaz Sharif UN Resolution in Islamabad also Erdoğan did address the situation in Gaza criticizing proposals to displace Gazans from their homeland and emphasizing the need to strengthen a resolute stance against such actions. Tayyip also expressed Turkey's appreciation for Pakistan support of Turkish Cypriots. The visit part of a three-nation Asia tour including Malaysia and Indonesia aimed to enhance trade and economic relations between Turkey and Pakistan.

A key focus of the visit was the 7th Session of the Pakistan-Turkiye High Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC), co-chaired by Erdoğan and Sharif. This high-level forum provides strategic direction for strengthening bilateral relations, covering sectors such as trade, investment, finance, culture, tourism, energy, defense, IT and health. Following the HLSCC session a joint declaration was issued, and 24 cooperation agreements were signed across various fields. These agreements included cooperation in military and civilian personnel exchange, electronic warfare, military healthcare training, energy transformation, mining, commodity trade, digitalization of commerce, water resources, seed technology, textile education, industrial property, religious education, halal commerce, central banking, public affairs, communications, media, healthcare and pharmaceuticals. Notably defense cooperation was bolstered through agreements involving Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) and Pakistan's Naval Research and Development Institute (NRDI) along with broader cooperation in the defense industry.
Beyond the strategic council and agreements both leaders expressed a commitment to increasing bilateral trade volume to $5 billion.Recep Tayyip received formal welcome in Islamabad including a ceremonial honor guard with musical performances.

Both countries also committed to intensifying efforts to achieve a bilateral trade volume of $5 billion with plans to expand the existing goods trade agreement to include investment, digital trade and the removal of non-tariff barriers. Furthermore Pakistan-Türkiye Business Forum signed two MoUs aimed at boosting bilateral business relations. These agreements demonstrate a shared commitment to challenging reciprocal growth, strengthening economic linkages and broadening collaboration across multiple industries.
In addition to the particular agreements visit provided a forum for high-level talks on regional, bilateral, and international concerns. Both leaders reaffirmed their dedication to fortifying their strategic alliance and cooperating to tackle common issues.
