Turkish FM: Relations between Iran, Turkey Deeply Rooted
TEHRAN (FNA)- Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said that relations between Iran and Turkey are deeply rooted and both sides are well aware of each other's potentials and capabilities.
He made the remarks in a live interview with the Turkish TV channel Khabar Turk on Saturday, Islamic republic news agency reported.
Referring to an increase in the volume of trade exchange between the two countries in recent years, he said Iran and Turkey have broadened economic cooperation in parallel with their political relations.
He said the officials stands of Iran are announced by top Iranian officials such as the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi and Turkey respects them.
Volume of trade exchange between the two countries has increased dramatically in recent years, he said, adding that the trade between the two countries hit the dlrs 20 billion mark last year.
On Syrian developments, he said there is a slight difference between the two sides' stands on Syria which leaves no impact on both sides' economic relations.
