Depends on how you interpret the text. IMO it means: S400 will still be bought, if congress approves the sale of Patriot we will also buy those.

Thats like the Saudis or UAEs buying French, British and US aircrafts because they to buy favors but instead we buy MBDA and Patriot to calm ties. Economically and militarily 3 different systems and Aselsans system sounds like a nightmare.

Chavushoglu is very smart... He just gain the support to Turkey but in reality he knows that Nobody in the world can give that insurance about COngress, if they do, it means US is not controlled by Democracy... very simple game by Turkey..

I don't follow you. This doesn't have anything to do with democracy. and what Cavusoglu did is the least he should be able to do. it's like praising a university student for being able to say 1+1 =2.

Cavusoglu is playing them. He knows the American congress is not to be trusted. This way he shows that the problem lies with America and not Turkey who tried for several years to buy the Patriot System.
So if everything goes well we can expect the first batch in 2019? The initial delivery date was sometime in 2020.

Well, I don't know if it's related, but it seems that us asking the US to guarentee the sale of Patriots and delivery in 2020. Might be related to Russia aiming to deliver S400 in 2020

Why should Turkey buy another defence system if they already made a S-400 deal? Turkey is just playing with the US.

PAC3 is a reliable system and Combat Proven or let's say "Situational" proven... Despite S-400 Sys... that was never used outside RU border/Evaluation targets...
So... ALL the Hype behind S-400 is only "ON PAPER"... and RU influence job around the region... nothing more...
S-400: SHOULD do the job
PAC3: CAN do the job...
As Turkey said... S-400 was the "available" option... Not the "Best" one...
Turkey first choice is still PAC3, They are familiar with it and KNOW it's performance and weaknesses... not the case with S-400...
S-400 order is "almost" Gambling...

Afaik we will get only 2 batteries of S-400 with $2.5billion (total rip off), and those 2 batteriess will probably be stationed in İzmir and Mersin (to cover Aegean sea and Cyprus/Eastern Mediterranian sea).
There is a need to cover Ankara and İstanbul-Kocaeli region as well. We will either buy more S-400 batteries or we will buy more systems from someone else.
